Every dog deserves the chance in life to leave their paw print on someone’s heart. And we know: Buddi’s paw prints are pure, full of clarity and loyalty, leaving behind many uniquely shaped imprints. Buddi urgently needs people who will open their hearts to these special marks. Buddi was found as a puppy, along with his siblings, abandoned by the roadside without his mother and brought to our shelter. There, the little pack spent several months in kennels. Buddi’s life took a sad turn when his two sisters found homes and traveled away. The young pup was left all alone, no longer understanding the world around him and deeply grieving. But then, suddenly, his great luck seemed within reach once more—and a few months ago, he moved into his new home. However, it quickly became clear: this wasn’t the right home for Buddi. Unfortunately, he didn’t find the stability he needed there. He was overwhelmed by the journey from Romania and the new impressions, completely withdrawing into himself. He would have needed a confident first dog to show him our world in a canine way. Instead, left entirely on his own, he felt utterly overwhelmed. Out of love for him, the family gave Buddi freedom, and he found his anchor at a wonderful boarding facility, where he’s been allowed to settle in at his own pace and gather himself for the past few months. Here, using professional positive training methods and a loving, understanding approach, he’s learning that he can rely on us humans and slowly starting to open up again. His playful, curious side has also begun to reappear over the past few days. Very carefully and quietly, Buddi is sneaking back into a cheerful, colorful life that he thought he’d lost long ago in his younger years. It’s wonderful to accompany him on this journey, and now we’re looking for people who want to give him exactly that—“his people”: time, empathy, dog wisdom, and an attitude free of expectations... and of course, a first dog or even a whole pack of dogs shouldn’t be missing, because he loves his fellow canines! While he was very approachable in Romania and had already learned to wear a harness and leash, here, after his low point in life, he’ll need to learn everything from scratch again. He’s already becoming easy to touch again and is entering into a very positive, joyful connection with his trainer. However, he’s not yet ready to accept a harness and leash, and that’s perfectly fine too. We’re certain that the right moment will come—when we can gently put the harness on him—just like with everything else. Buddi is now 14 months old and is right in the middle of puberty. This phase can bring challenges for both dog and owner, which should be tackled in a positive way. It’s crucial that the young male feels his human’s security and is aware of their love and support. Boundaries won’t be deliberately crossed during this time, and nothing previously learned will be intentionally forgotten—it’s a developmental phase with its ups and downs. Buddi is an active teenager who would love to get plenty of exercise once he gets used to wearing a harness and leash again. As for what genes lie dormant in Buddi, we can’t say for sure. Based on the very diverse appearance of his siblings, we suspect he carries a colorful mix of all kinds of dog breeds. Who would like to immortalize their footprints alongside Buddi’s truly special paw prints? From this could emerge a uniquely colorful, vibrant, and precious work of art. This handsome fellow is waiting for your visit at his boarding facility in Riegel am Kaiserstuhl. He’ll be especially delighted if you already have a first dog by your side—that would be the jackpot for him. After a positive pre-check and upon payment of a protection fee, Buddi can be chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated against fleas and ticks, and given an EU pet passport before moving into his new home—or even into a foster home. Buddi’s positive Entwicklung kommt gerade so richtig in Fahrt. Er macht mit seiner Trainerin wöchentlich, manchmal täglich, riesige Fortschritte in ein angstfreies Verhalten. Wir sind sehr glücklich darüber! Buddis Geschichte beginnt auf den Straßen Rumäniens. Gemeinsam mit seinen Geschwistern wurde er mutterlos am Straßenrand gefunden. Die Rasselbande bekam einen Platz im Shelter und das bedeutete erstmal Sicherheit, auch wenn es ein Zuhause nicht ersetzen kann. Doch dann nahm Buddis Schicksal eine weitere traurige Wendung. Seine beiden Schwestern fanden ihre Familien und Buddi blieb allein zurück. Die Trauer saß tief und der kleine Hundebub hat unter dem Verlust sehr gelitten. Dann endlich fand auch Buddi eine wunderbare Familie, die ihm ein Zuhause schenken wollten. Doch leider wurde schnell klar, dort bekommt Buddi nicht das, was er braucht. Nach seiner Ankunft in Deutschland war er stark verunsichert und für Buddi wäre ein souveräner und sozialer Ersthund ein wetrvoller Anker. Ein Hundekumpel, der ihn an die Pfote nimmt und ihm Sicherheit schenkt. Aus Liebe zu Buddi ließ ihn seine Familie gehen und er konnte in einer wunderbaren Pension den Halt finden, den er brauchte. Ein Ersthund ist keine Voraussetzung, wäre für Buddi aber wünschenswert. Und so darf Buddis Licht langsam wieder strahlen, jeden Tag ein bisschen mehr. Aus einem verunsicherten Junghund wird Stück für Stück wieder ein fröhlicher und energiegeladener Kerl, der das Leben zu genießen weiß und sich immer mehr traut. Dank einer unglaublich großzügigen Patin, erhält Buddi ein intensives, tägliches Training, für die sie alle Kosten trägt. Buddi lernt hier nach vielen Umbrüchen in seinem noch so jungen Leben, dass er vertrauen und einfach Hund sein darf. Denn während er sich in Rumänien das Geschirr einfach anlegen ließ, musste er es in Deutschland erst wieder lernen. Mittlerweile hat er sich schon wieder an Halsband und Leine gewöhnt. Das Anlegen muss aktuell noch spielerisch erfolgen, doch so und ohne Druck klappt es bereits sehr gut. Während er sich nach seiner Ankunft in sein Schneckenhaus verkrochen hat, lässt er sich jetzt gerne streicheln und fordert Streicheleinheiten sogar ein. Und so, Tag für Tag, Stück für Stück kommt Buddi an und zeigt immer mehr, was für ein Quatschkopf er eigentlich ist. Denn wenn die kleine Elster spitzbekommt, dass etwas aus einer Hosentasche blitzt, dann zieht er das auch gerne mal raus, um es sich näher ansehen zu können. Er liebt es auch im Sand zu toben und zu spielen. Und diese sorglosen Momente zeigen uns, dass sich die Mühe und Anstrengungen lohnen. Seit ein paar Tagen lässt der tolle Kerl sich endlich auch ein Geschirr anziehen und erkundet nun in kleinen Schritten mit seinen Bezugspersonen die Umgebung. Dabei läuft er schon ganz toll an der Leine und orientiert sich sehr an den Menschen. Was sollen wir sagen…Er ist so langsam bereit für ein normales artgerechtes Hundeleben! Und jetzt bist du gefragt! Wenn bereits ein souveräner Ersthund Teil deiner Familie ist und du einem pubertären Buben zeigen willst, was es noch alles zu lernen und zu entdecken gibt, dann melde dich gerne bei uns. Buddi wünscht sich ein stabiles Umfeld, in dem er weiter aufblühen darf. Er braucht eine Familie, die ihm mit Geduld und Empathie begegnen, aber ihn auch konsequent führen, denn Regeln und Routinen geben ihm Sicherheit. Nach einer positiven Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr darf Buddi gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt, entfloht und mit EU-Heimtierausweis in sein neues Zuhause ziehen. Auch eine erfahrene Pflegestelle mit einem Ersthund wäre für Buddi eine wertvolle Möglichkeit das Leben in einem Haushalt weiter kennenlernen zu dürfen. Kastiert ist Buddi altersbedingt noch nicht.
