Cassie has lots of love to give to the family who show her love and help her build confidence. She is a sensitive girl who is worried initially when meeting new people and spooked by sudden loud noises or raised voices. Give her a bit of time to warm up to you and you will see her personality shine. With her human friends, she adores a fuss. When she comes out of her shell, she is a bouncy, young girl who enjoys doing all things ‘dog’, like the joys of rolling around in the grass, bounding after soft toys, chasing after a ball, and having a game of fetch with you. Cassie would love a family who not only enjoy physical exercise but enjoy getting involved in brain games – mental stimulation through positive reward training too. Cassie knows a sit, down, and come, and has good recall when she knows and trusts you. She enjoys meaty treats and takes them gently. When it comes to other dogs, she would benefit from building up her socialisation skills gradually, unsure and lacking confidence initially, and then interested in meeting and greeting, walking alongside and making friends. The wonderful Cassie is a one-year-old German Shepherd looking for a loving home with a gentle, kind, sweet-natured family. She could potentially share her home with another dog. She has no history around cats, small furries, or livestock and has been okay around chickens and ducks. She could share her home with upper secondary school aged children. Cassie is housetrained and has history of being okay to be left alone at home for a few hours at a time. She does not travel well in the car, possible travel sickness. Cassie is likely to be nervous but friendly around visitors to the home and would best suit a quiet home environment. She is used to a rural, quiet lifestyle, not keen on traffic noise, and would love to find a home where she can have walks in country locations avoiding the hustle and bustle of towns.
