Young boy’s cuteness wins hearts and within a moment he’s already thoroughly investigating the newcomer. He bonds quickly with people and seeks safety if he starts getting too excited. Husk does well with other dogs, placed ideally as a playmate to avoid potential future issues. He’s already accustomed to a middle school-aged child and to a family with very young children; Husk is not placed in a home where he would be lonely or bored. We have no idea how he feels about cats, but the chinchilla has become familiar to the boy in a foster home, and Husk has not been a cuddly friend to pass along. In the chinchilla, he moves nimbly, tassles the handler’s hand a bit for safety, and gradually becomes more confident over time. For some dogs, the chinchilla is a target, but he stops the chase when told and directs his attention to another. He stands and watches the dogs or cyclists passing on the other side of the road, then continues on his way. Traveling by car slightly excites him and causes some distress. During the journey, it’s best to be quiet and not to tease his delicate nature, as he still needs training to get used to car travel. Solo training has been started, and when the person leaves, he does not chase off or make a mess on his own. So far, no feedback has come from neighbors about his solo chasing. Solo training will continue when moving to a new home, starting with the smallest step. Husk is looking for a home, either as a single, paired, or in an owner home from a peaceful neighborhood. The apartment boy has shown interest in chasing, especially at night. The apartment’s temperament and chasing behavior make it unlikely to be a suitable living arrangement. We hope for experience with feisty dogs and their handling, and experience with dogs that are a bit aloof is also a plus. Husk needs a lot of encouragement and training to adapt to new situations, and the owner must commit to training the dog using positive reinforcement. Husk is indoor-friendly and can be introduced to the boy at the foster home in Espoo. The pressure on the boy is around 5 kg.

Hihnassa kävelee nätisti, tassuttelee taluttajan vierellä hieman turvaa hakien, rohkaistuu toki päivä päivältä enemmän. Joillekin toisille koirille haukkuu hihnassa, mutta lopettaa haukun kun kielletään ja ohjataan huomio toisaalle. Pysähtelee seurailemaan tien toisella puolella kulkevia koiria tai pyöräilijöitä, jatkaa sitten matkaa. Autossa matkustaminen hieman jännittää ja siitä aiheutuu pahoinvointia. On matkan ajan ihan hiljaa eikä pidä meteliä kevythäkissään, vaatii vielä totuttelua automatkusteluun. Yksinolo harjoitukset on aloitettu eikä ihmisen lähtiessä ole haukkunut perään eikä tehnyt pahojaan yksin ollessaan. Naapureilta ei toistaiseksi ole tullut palautetta haukkumisesta yksin ollessaan. Yksinolo harjoituksia tulee jatkaa uuteen kotiin siirryttyä pienin askelin. Huskille etsitään kotia joko rivi-, pari-, tai omakotitalosta rauhalliselta asuinalueelta. Kerrostalon äänille poika on haukahdellut, etenkin yöaikaan. Aran luonteen sekä haukahtelun takia kerrostalo ei välttämättä ole sopivin vaihtoehto asuinmuodoksi. Tulevalta kodilta toivotaan kokemusta harjakoirista ja niiden ihon hoidosta, aroista koirista oleva kokemus on myös plussaa. Husk tarvitsee paljon rohkaisua ja totuttelua uusiin tilanteisiin, omistajan tulee sitoutua kouluttamaan koiraa positiivisen vahvistamisen avulla. Husk on sisäsiisti ja sijaiskodissa Espoossa jonne poikaan pääsee sovitusti tutustumaan. Painoa pojalla on n.5kg.
