Santino, “the Marquis” to his friends, is a very elegant podenco. He’s always basking in the sun and striking poses. He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play—though of course, he also loves to win. He’s extremely particular about food: he’ll sniff it first and make sure he likes the smell before taking his time to savor it. At first, he’s wary and fearful of people, since they all seem crude to him—but given enough time, he’ll let you serve him. He prefers country life to city life, because, as he puts it, “there’s too much riffraff” in dog parks.
