Merco is a young Malinois born in June 2024, arriving at the shelter after experiencing a particularly difficult early life. He lived tethered to a chain from a very young age and is now discovering a completely new environment. He is full of energy and needs time to understand his surroundings and build trust. Once he feels secure, Merco turns out to be endearing, close to humans, while remaining very dynamic. He enjoys physical and emotional contact. Currently, an accompaniment with a canine educator is underway and must be continued by his future adopters. This follow-up is essential for him to progress, be understood and guided, and build a balanced relationship with his future family. Merco will need: – Regular physical and mental activities, – A calm, consistent, and structured environment, – Patient, present, and invested humans, – A reassuring environment to continue building trust. Regarding his interactions, he has met the educator’s dog, with whom the contact went well. Having never lived with other dogs, he will need to learn canine codes. A cohabitation could be considered with a balanced dog, with appropriate support. However, he does not get along with cats. We will avoid homes with children, as his high energy level could lead to too abrupt interactions. Merco is seeking a serious, gentle, and invested family, ready to commit for the long term to accompany him in his development. With time, patience, and appropriate guidance, he can become a balanced and endearing companion.

Merco est un jeune Malinois né en juin 2024, arrivé au refuge après avoir connu un début de vie particulièrement difficile. Il vivait attaché à une chaîne depuis tout petit et découvre aujourd’hui un environnement totalement nouveau. C’est un chien plein d’énergie, qui a besoin de temps pour comprendre son environnement et accorder sa confiance. Une fois en confiance, Merco se révèle attachant, proche de l’humain, tout en restant très dynamique. Il apprécie les contacts et les câlins. Un accompagnement avec un éducateur canin est actuellement en cours et devra impérativement être poursuivi par ses futurs adoptants. Ce suivi est essentiel pour lui permettre de progresser, d’être compris et guidé, et de construire une relation équilibrée avec sa future famille. Merco aura besoin :– d’activités physiques et mentales régulières,– d’un cadre calme, cohérent et structurant,– d’humains patients, présents et investis,– d’un environnement rassurant pour continuer à prendre confiance. Concernant ses ententes, il a rencontré le chien de l’éducateur, avec qui le contact s’est bien déroulé. N’ayant jamais vécu avec d’autres chiens, il devra apprendre les codes canins. Une cohabitation pourra être envisagée avec un chien équilibré, avec un accompagnement adapté. En revanche, il ne s’entend pas avec les chats. Nous éviterons les foyers avec enfants, son niveau d’énergie étant élevé et pouvant entraîner des interactions trop brusques. Merco recherche une famille sérieuse, douce et investie, prête à s’engager dans la durée pour l’accompagner dans son évolution. Avec du temps, de la patience et un encadrement adapté, il pourra devenir un compagnon de vie équilibré et attachant.
