This story is a true drama—a drama involving two people and a dog. Milenka ended up at the Shelter after her caretakers froze to death in their own home during severe cold weather. She was the only one who survived. Terrified, lost, and heartbroken, Milenka found it extremely difficult to adjust to life at the Shelter. It’s too loud here, and there’s just too much going on. Poor little lady arrived with severe neglect, dirty, and distrustful. Fortunately, she’s now doing much better—both physically and emotionally. After some time, Milenka completely trusted us and showed that she’s an absolutely wonderful, well-balanced, cheerful, and intelligent female dog. Volunteers flock to see who’ll get to take her for a walk—because walking with Milenka is pure joy! She strolls calmly and proudly, effortlessly passing other dogs and occasionally checking to make sure her human is still by her side. She loves rolling around in the grass or snow, and every now and then she pulls off an almost puppy-like “silly stunt.” Milenka gets along great with other dogs and could probably live happily with a nice resident dog. We’re not sure how she’d fare with cats. During the “Adopt a Warsaw Resident” campaign, she handled things bravely—even though right now she’s not particularly fond of traveling, which makes her a bit nervous. Maybe that’ll change in the future. Milenka is very gentle; she lets you bathe and brush her without any fuss. She’s looking for a calm home without too many stairs to climb. Ta historia to prawdziwy dramat. Dramat dwojga ludzi i dramat psa. Milenka trafiła do Schroniska po tym jak jej opiekunowie zamarzli we własnym domu podczas silnych mrozów. Przeżyła tylko ona. Przerażona, zagubiona, ze złamanym sercem. Milence bardzo trudno było odnaleźć się w warunkach Schroniska. Jest tu dla niej za głośno, za dużo się dzieje. Ta biedna sunia trafiła do nas mocno zaniedbana, brudna, nieufna. Na szczęście obecnie ma się o wiele lepiej, zarówno pod względem zdrowia fizycznego, jak i nastroju. Milenka po jakimś czasie całkowicie nam zaufała i pokazała, że jest absolutnie cudowną, zrównoważoną, wesołą i mądrą suczką. Wolontariusze ściągają się, komu uda się zabrać właśnie ją na spacer ;-) Bo spacer z Milenką to sama przyjemność, sunia spaceruje spokojnie i dumnie, bez problemu mijając inne psy i co jakiś czas sprawdzając, czy jej człowiek jest z nią. Lubi się wytarzać w trawce czy śniegu, a co jakiś czas dostaje niemal szczenięcej „głupawki”. Milenka dobrze dogaduje się z innymi psami i zapewne mogłaby zamieszkać z miłym psem rezydentem. Nie znamy jej stosunku do kotów. Podczas Akcji Adoptuj Warszawiaka dzielnie dawała sobie radę, choć na ten moment nie jest specjalną fanką podróży, które nieco ją stresują. Być może zmieni się to w przyszłości. Milenka jest bardzo łagodna, pozwala bez problemu na kąpiele i czesanie. Szuka spokojnego domu, bez dużej ilości schodów do pokonywania.
