FOR "DON'T FIT YOU, BUT THEY ARE A KING TO OTHERS"…we ask for the maximum sharing of this post to spread the story of one of the guests at our animal shelter who has never been adopted. Thank you!!! Today we introduce RAIMONDO. Don't stop worrying about the breed and the stories you've heard. Raimondo has "pros and cons," which we will try to present to you as best as we can, with full honesty. Born in 2015 and entering the dog shelter in 2018 with his mother, Raimondo has been our big boy for years…a full of energy and enthusiasm dog that we have always defined among ourselves as "then there would be Raimondo, young and good, but no one wants him." In reality, his youth is also decreasing year by year, but for us, he is still the same, with the same temperament, the same sweetness. Raimondo is a Simil American Staffordshire Terrier and reflects a lot of what is said about the breed: "He loves company very much and has an infinite vitality, protective and very attached to the family, in particular, he is faithful to his owner and, once identified as his leader, he will follow him in everything and anything. He has a strong and determined character, but he is also very intelligent and easily trainable. He is a great companion and a good guard. He definitely needs to move every day, he is not a dog who loves to sleep on the couch. He needs to stay active and always engaged." Raimondo is just like that, eager to go out and play with anything, but also to interact a lot with us and to be cuddled. He loves physical contact, he enjoys being kissed and hugged, which he reciprocates with headbutts and sitting, so if you are delicate, it's not for you? (luckily, he doesn't have the habit of jumping on people, right?) At the same time, he is a 30 kg, very muscular dog, so it takes strength and the ability to keep him on a leash. This is not because he goes crazy on a leash, on the contrary, he is a true gentleman, but because outside the dog shelter, if he is interested in something and decides to pull in that direction, it takes a bit of agility to avoid being dragged away. Another of his important characteristics: Raimondo is as docile and sociable with people as intolerant of other animals. He got along only with his mother, but he doesn't tolerate other dogs. Therefore, an adoption as a singleton (no dogs, cats, rabbits…), and walks that do not include straying through the city center, to avoid him trying to attack other dogs that might approach him "because my dog gets along with everyone." Absolutely suitable to live in an apartment, given that the activity should be done in the company of the family, with the possibility of giving him physical exercise every day, providing adequate physical and mental stimulation (something that should be guaranteed to all dogs…). Considering the intolerance of other animals, his size, and vitality, we require an adopter with some experience for him. Neutered male, negative for heartworm and leishmaniasis. Available for adoption only in Turin and province to allow us pre- and post-adoption placement checks. These are the main characteristics of Raimondo. Per la nostra rubrica “NON ANDRO’ BENE A TE, MA PER ALTRI SONO UN RE” ?…chiediamo la massima condivisione di questo post, per diffondere la descrizione di uno degli ospiti del nostro rifugio che finora non ha mai richiesto nessuno. Grazie!!! Oggi vi presentiamo RAIMONDO. E non vi fermate subito preoccupati per la razza e le storie sentite in giro. Raimondo ha “pregi e difetti”, che cercheremo di presentarvi al meglio, di sicuro in tutta sincerità. Nato nel 2015 ed entrato in canile nel 2018 con la madre, Raimondo è da anni il nostro ragazzone…un cane pieno di energie ed entusiasmo che abbiamo sempre definito tra noi “e poi ci sarebbe Raimondo, giovane e buono, ma tanto non lo vuole nessuno”. In realtà anche la giovinezza sta diminuendo, anno dopo anno, ma per noi è sempre uguale, stessa tempra, stessa dolcezza. Raimondo è un simil American Staffordshire Terrier e rispecchia molto quello che si dice sulla razza: “Ama moltissimo la compagnia e ha una vitalità infinita, protettiva e molto legata alla famiglia, in particolare è fedele al suo padrone e, una volta identificato come suo leader, lo seguirà in tutto e per tutto. Ha un carattere forte e determinato, ma è anche molto intelligente e facilmente addestrabile. È un grande compagno di vita, oltre che un buon guardiano. Di certo ha bisogno di muoversi ogni giorno, non è un cane che ama dormire in poltrona. Ha bisogno di tenersi attivo e sempre impegnato”. Raimondo è proprio così, desideroso di uscire e giocare con qualsiasi cosa, ma anche di interagire molto con noi e di farsi coccolare. È un cane che ama il contatto fisico, si fa strapazzare volentieri di baci e abbracci, che ricambia con testate e sederate, quindi se siete delicati non fa per voi ? (non è comunque un cane che ha l’abitudine di saltare addosso, per fortuna?) Allo stesso tempo è un cane di 30 kg, molto muscoloso, quindi occorre avere la forza e la capacità di tenerlo al guinzaglio. Questo non perché al guinzaglio faccia il matto, anzi è un vero signore, ma perché all’esterno del canile, se fosse interessato a qualcosa e decidesse di tirare in quella direzione, occorre avere un po’ di prestanza per evitare di seguirlo in volo. Altra sua caratteristica importante: Raimondo è tanto docile e socievole con le persone, quanto intollerante agli altri animali. Andava d’accordo solo con la mamma, ma non sopporta gli altri cani. Quindi indispensabile un’adozione da figlio unico (no cani, gatti, conigli…) e delle passeggiate che non prevedano lo struscio in centro città, onde evitare che tenti di aggredire altri cani che magari gli si avvicinano “tanto il mio cane va d’accordo con tutti”. Assolutamente adatto a vivere in appartamento, visto che l’attività va fatta in compagnia della famiglia, fermo restando la possibilità di fargli fare esercizio fisico ogni giorno, consentendogli adeguati stimoli psico-fisici (cosa che dovrebbe essere garantita a tutti i cani…) Considerata l’intolleranza agli altri animali abbinata anche alla stazza e vitalità, richiediamo per lui un adottante con un po’ di esperienza. Castrato, negativo a filaria e leishmania. Adottabile solo a Torino e provincia per consentirci i controlli pre e post affido. Queste sono le caratteristiche principali di Raimondo, se incuriositi o interessati, vi invitiamo a passare in canile per conoscerlo, perché ha davvero tanto da offrire….diamogli una possibilità!!!!
