Spike is a big baby at heart who firmly believes he’s a lap dog (we don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise!). He loves nothing more than cuddles on the sofa and enjoys being groomed. He’s a big fan of long, sniffy walks and having a short play with his toys, although he most definitely prefers human company and affection. Spike is a clever boy who already knows lots of tricks, and here at the centre, he’s certainly a favourite with the ladies! The way he confidently strides past makes it almost impossible not to stop and give him some fuss. Spike is a handsome 4-year-old Japanese Akita x Rottweiler with plenty of character and a big heart. He will need to be the only pet in the home and can suit a family with older primary school-aged children who are confident around larger breeds. When needed, he is happy to be left for up to four hours. Spike is also a great traveller and loves hopping into the car. As Spike isn’t a fan of other dogs, he’ll need to wear his muzzle when out in public to help keep both him and others safe.
