Throughout most of his life, he has not experienced a single moment of home warmth, care, or love. Before ending up behind shelter bars, he existed in conditions that completely shattered his puppyhood joy and trust. Left to fend for himself, severely neglected, perpetually hungry, pushed away and treated by abusers as an unnecessary, broken object… His deep, heartbreaking eyes speak volumes of the terrible nightmare he endured. WINSTON panics at the sight of strangers, sudden movements, and new, unfamiliar situations. At this point, he is a deeply withdrawn and fearful dog who tries to remain invisible in the shelter kennel.
