Yake is an incredibly sweet cat around 11 years old. In May 2025, he came to us from a large group caught in a trap in the south of the country. After a long stay at the shelter, Yake found his own home earlier this year. Unfortunately, there is no connection between him and the existing house cat, so we are looking for a new, suitable home for him. Since Yake found the life at the shelter quite exciting, we hope he can move from his current home to his forever home. During his time with his current adopter, Yake has completely thawed and become very social, especially for some sweet words, he likes to get attention. He also likes to follow you for some company. When Yake hears you coming home, he picks you up at the front door and loudly lets you know he wants some attention. Now that he has found his place with his adopter, he also doesn't find visits exciting anymore and quickly asks for attention there too. In addition to petting, Yake also loves brushing, especially if he is rewarded with treats or liquid snacks in between. Yake has a real fondness for tasty snacks. Despite his age, Yake is still very playful. He likes all toys and still has the crazy 5 minutes regularly.

Yake is een ongelooflijk lieve kat van ongeveer 11 jaar jong. In mei van 2025 kwam hij samen met een enorme groep bij ons vanuit een vangactie in het zuiden van het land. Na langdurige opvang binnen de stichting vond Yake begin van dit jaar een eigen huisje. Helaas is er geen klik tussen hem en de al aanwezig kat des huizes en zijn we opnieuw opzoek naar een fijn en passend huis voor hem. Omdat Yake het leven binnen de opvang vrij spannend vond, hopen we dat hij vanuit zijn huidige woonplaats mag verhuizen naar zijn gouden mandje. In zijn tijd bij zijn huidige adoptant is Yake volledig ontdooit en erg sociaal geworden, vooral voor wat lieve woordjes komt hij graag aandacht halen. Ook loopt hij graag achter je aan voor wat gezelschap. Als Yake hoort dat je thuis komt, haalt hij je op bij de voordeur en laat hij luidkeels horen dat hij graag wat aandacht wil. Nu hij eenmaal zijn draai bij zijn adoptant heeft gevonden, vindt hij ook bezoek niet meer spannend en komt hij ook daar al snel aandacht vragen. Naast aaien, vindt Yake ook borstelen helemaal het einde, vooral als hij tussentijds beloond wordt met snoepjes of liquid snack. Yake heeft namelijk een echte voorliefde voor lekkere snacks. Ondanks zijn leeftijd is Yake ook nog ontzettend speels. Hij vindt alle speeltjes leuk en heeft met regelmaat nog de gekke 5 minuten.
