ZEUS – “FOUR WALKS A WEEK CHANGED MY WORLD… BUT I’M HOPING FOR MORE” Hi, I’m Zeus. I recently moved here from another shelter where there were very few visitors. That meant there weren’t many chances to get out, explore, sniff, stretch my legs… or simply spend time with people. Things are better for me now. Four days a week, the volunteers come and take me out. And believe me – I know exactly what those days mean! When my kennel door opens, I’m usually in quite a hurry. There’s important business to attend to, and apparently I have a particular preference for reversing into the bushes to do it. Once that mission is accomplished, though, I settle right down and walk beautifully on the lead. The volunteers say I’m a gorgeous, affectionate and loving boy. I’m good around other dogs, I’m not bothered by those we meet on our walks, and if you have a treat for me, I’ll sit and take it ever so gently. I weigh around 31 kg, so there’s quite a lot of me to love – and I have plenty of love to give in return. I’m grateful for my four walks a week. I really am. But there are seven days in a week and what I’m really dreaming of is waking up somewhere where every day belongs to me too. A morning walk. A comfy bed. Someone calling my name. A hand reaching down for a cuddle. Maybe a doggy friend. And no kennel door closing behind me when our time together is over. I’ve already spent enough of my life waiting for people to come. Maybe now I can finally have someone who stays. Approx weight 29/04/26: 31.25kg Pawgress report from volunteer Helen 15/07/26: Zeus is my first dog I go to each time, he is desperate to get out and do his business and we will pull quite hard to the road where the bushes are, he seems to reverse into the bushes to do his business When you get a treat out he sits down and takes it so gently. He doesn’t pull on the lead once he’s completed his business He not bothered by other dogs . Pupdate 04/09/26: Sally says what a wonderful boy Zeus is walks beautifully, great with other dogs. He’s great with cats no issues. The perfect boy.
