Arctic k nám přišla od chovatele hledajícího její první domov. Byla adoptována na krátkou dobu, ale poté se k nám opět vrátila, protože nový domov jí nevyhovoval dostatečně. Ačkoli adopce neuspěla, Arctic díky ní získala určitou důvěru, což je pro ni obrovský milník. Arctic je starostlivá malá slečna, která byla při své původní adopci velmi vyděšená. Od svého návratu k nám jsme však pozorovali výrazné zlepšení její důvěry. I když zůstává stále úzkostným psem, snaží se ze všech sil být statečná a pokračuje v postupném zlepšování. Stále se velmi bojí manipulace a může být přetížená, pokud ji příliš nutíte; může také udělat špatné rozhodnutí, a proto musí být jakékoli interakce s ní prováděny v jejím vlastním tempu. Nyní už umožňuje manipulaci, když k ní přistupujete klidně a jemně, ale bude potřebovat chápavé adoptivní majitele, kteří budou ochotni dlouhodobě dále budovat její důvěru. Kvůli své citlivosti hledá Arctic klidný a tichý domov pouze pro dospělé s adoptivními majiteli, kteří mají zkušenosti s nervózními psími bývalými chovanci. Vždy jí velmi dobře dělalo společenství ostatních psů a hodně se na ně spoléhá, aby ji uklidňovali. Arctic musí být umístěna do domova s minimálně dvěma laskavými a sebevědomými psími spolubydlícími, kteří jí pomohou orientovat se v domácím prostředí. Ačkoli si užívá psí společnost, má docela silnou osobnost a občas může být trochu panovačná, takže její budoucí psí kamarádi budou muset být tolerantní k jejím občasným princeznovským tendencím. Kromě své krátké adopce žila Arctic nikdy předtím v domácnosti, takže mnohé aspekty rodinného života budou pro ni stále nové. Bude potřebovat trvalou podporu při tréninku toalety, chození na vodítku a učení, že svět není tak strašidelný. S časem, trpělivostí a důsledností jsme si jisti, že bude nadále získávat důvěru a vyvinout se v šťastnějšího psa. Za dobu, co je zpět s námi, se Arctic rozkvetla v malou princeznu, která je připravena být hýčkaná, jak si zaslouží. Ačkoli možná nikdy nebude typem psa, který by se chtěl schoulit k vám do klína, už teď ukázala, jaký pokrok je schopná dosáhnout. S jemným a zkušeným domovem jsme si jisti, že bude pokračovat v dalším růstu a získávání důvěry. Arctic má trochu ztrátu srsti, očekáváme, že se to zlepší po kastraci a s dostatkem lásky a péče. Má také zvětšenou mléčnou žlázu, ale naše veterináři si zatím kvůli tomu nedělají starosti. Kromě toho aktuálně dostává léčbu proti bolavé kůži na zadní části těla. Tyto stavy budou považovány za předchozí a pravděpodobně nebudou hrazeny standardními pojistnými smlouvami pro domácí zvířata. Arctic je milá a citlivá malá pomerančovka, která jednoduše potřebuje pochopení, trpělivost a čas. S klidným domovem, mnoha projevy lásky a podporující skupinou psích kamarádů po svém boku věříme, že bude i nadále vycházet ze svého ulity a ukazovat, jak daleko dokáže zajít. Pro správnou rodinu bude pomáhat Arctic na její cestě neuvěřitelně oplodňujícím zážitkem. Tento pes může být umístěn s psím spolubydlícím.

Please meet Arctic! She is a very special girl looking for a very special home with patient, experienced adopters who will never give up on her and who will love her for exactly who she is. Arctic first came to us from a breeder in 2025. When she arrived, she was an extremely frightened and shut-down girl who found people and handling very overwhelming. Since then, life has been a bit of a rollercoaster for this special girl. She was adopted twice but has sadly found herself back in our care both times. Her first adoption sadly wasn't the right match due to her level of fear, as she could nip if pushed beyond her comfort zone. Her second return came after she accidentally escaped through the front door. In the panic of the situation, she bit her adopter when they tried to catch her, and it was decided that returning her to us was the best option. Arctic is now settling into foster care, where she has already started to show us more of her wonderful personality. She found the first couple of days quite stressful and spent a lot of time pacing while she explored her new surroundings, but she has settled well and is becoming much more relaxed. She is a very curious girl who likes to know what is going on and will happily follow her foster family from room to room to see what they are doing. She has been mostly clean during the day, although she has had the occasional overnight accident as she adjusts to her new routine. Arctic sleeps quietly overnight in her crate and is always pleased to see her foster carer in the morning, eagerly waiting for her breakfast. Arctic is still a very anxious girl and remains particularly worried about being touched or handled. However, she is already making gentle progress. She is slowly learning to trust her foster carer, who is able to carefully pick her up using a blanket and gently groom her, during which she will accept handling and strokes. She has even started choosing to sit on the sofa alongside her foster carer and the other dogs, although she is not yet comfortable with being touched whilst relaxing. Everything is very much on Arctic's terms, and she is showing that, with patience, she is capable of building trusting relationships. She will need a very special, adult-only home with adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs. If she feels pushed beyond her comfort zone, she can make the wrong decisions purely out of fear, so her new family will need to be patient, understanding and committed to helping her continue building her confidence over the long term. She may never be a lap dog, but she is a lovely girl who will show her affection in her own quiet ways, and watching her grow in confidence will be incredibly rewarding. Arctic had never experienced life in a home before her adoption. Although she spent around six months in her most recent home and is now continuing to learn in foster care, she will still need adopters who understand that she may need a refresher with house training and time to adjust to a new routine. She has started learning about wearing a harness and, once the warmer weather has passed, her foster carer will continue this training. She is still at the very beginning of her lead walking journey, so she will need a home with a secure garden where she can safely enjoy the outdoors while she builds her confidence. One thing Arctic has always loved is the company of other dogs. They are her greatest source of comfort and reassurance, and we feel she would thrive in a home with multiple confident resident dogs, as she relies on canine company so much. She has impeccable doggy manners and gets on brilliantly with all of the dogs in her foster home. She can have a bit of a strong personality, so her resident dogs will need to be happy with her occasionally being a little bossy. She is also happily living alongside a cat in foster care and takes no notice of them. Arctic is looking for a home that will love her for exactly who she is, rather than who they hope she might become. She is already showing that she enjoys the comforts of home, from curling up on a soft bed to relaxing on the sofa with her canine friends. With experienced adopters, patient guidance and confident canine companions by her side, we truly believe Arctic will continue to blossom and enjoy the happy, secure future she so deserves. When Arctic originally came to us, she had some fur loss, but this has grown back wonderfully. She also had an enlarged mammary gland, but our vets are not concerned about this at present, although it may require monitoring by her adopters and their own vet. She is currently receiving treatment for some small patches of chronic dermatitis on her lower lip. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
