Arctic est venue chez nous depuis un éleveur à la recherche de sa toute première maison. Elle a été adoptée pendant une courte période mais est ensuite revenue chez nous car le foyer ne convient pas vraiment. Bien que l'adoption n'ait pas été réussie, cela a aidé Arctic à gagner en confiance, ce qui a été un grand jalon pour elle. Arctic est une petite dame inquiète qui avait très peur lorsqu'elle a été adoptée pour la première fois. Depuis son retour chez nous, nous avons constaté une amélioration importante en termes de confiance. Bien qu'elle reste encore anxieuse, elle fait de son mieux pour être courageuse et continue d'avancer progressivement. Elle reste très sensible au contact et peut se sentir submergée si elle est poussée trop loin, ce qui pourrait entraîner de mauvaises décisions, donc toutes les interactions avec elle doivent se faire à son rythme. Elle permet maintenant le contact lorsqu'elle est abordée calmement et doucement, mais elle aura besoin d'adoptants compréhensifs prêts à continuer à construire sa confiance sur le long terme. En raison de sa nature sensible, Arctic cherche un foyer calme et silencieux uniquement pour adultes, avec des adoptants ayant de l'expérience avec les chiens nerveux anciens éleveurs. Elle a toujours trouvé un grand réconfort dans la compagnie d'autres chiens et compte beaucoup sur eux pour s'assurer. Arctic doit être réadoptée avec au moins deux chiens résidents aimants et confiants qui pourront l'aider à traverser la vie dans un environnement domestique. Bien qu'elle apprécie la compagnie canine, elle a une personnalité assez forte et peut être un peu dominante parfois, donc ses futures amies canines devront être tolérantes face à ses tendances occasionnelles de princesse. À part son adoption brève, Arctic n'a jamais habité dans un foyer auparavant, donc de nombreux aspects de la vie familiale seront encore nouveaux pour elle. Elle aura besoin d'un soutien continu pour l'entraînement à la laisse, l'habitude de la maison et pour comprendre que le monde n'est pas si effrayant. Avec du temps, de la patience et de la cohérence, nous sommes confiants qu'elle continuera à gagner en confiance et à devenir un chien plus heureux. Durant le temps qu'elle a passé de retour avec nous, Arctic s'est épanouie en une petite princesse prête à être gâtée comme elle le mérite. Bien qu'elle ne soit peut-être jamais le type de chien qui veut se blottir sur vos genoux, elle a déjà montré combien elle est capable de progrès. Avec une maison douce et expérimentée, nous sommes certains qu'elle continuera à avancer et à gagner en confiance. Arctic a une perte de poils, que nous espérons voir s'améliorer après son stérilisation et avec beaucoup de soins. Elle a également une glande mammaire agrandie, mais nos vétérinaires ne sont pas inquiets à cet égard pour le moment. En outre, elle reçoit actuellement un traitement pour une peau irritée sur sa partie arrière. Ces conditions seront considérées comme préexistantes et donc peu susceptibles d'être couvertes par les politiques standard d'assurance animale. Arctic est un petit Pom gentil et sensible qui a simplement besoin de compréhension, de patience et de temps. Avec un foyer paisible, beaucoup d'amour et un groupe soutenant de compagnons canins à côté d'elle, nous croyons qu'elle continuera à sortir de sa coquille et à montrer à quel point elle peut aller loin. Pour la bonne famille, aider Arctic dans son parcours sera une expérience extrêmement gratifiante. Ce chien peut être adopté avec un chien résident.

Please meet Arctic! She is a very special girl looking for a very special home with patient, experienced adopters who will never give up on her and who will love her for exactly who she is. Arctic first came to us from a breeder in 2025. When she arrived, she was an extremely frightened and shut-down girl who found people and handling very overwhelming. Since then, life has been a bit of a rollercoaster for this special girl. She was adopted twice but has sadly found herself back in our care both times. Her first adoption sadly wasn't the right match due to her level of fear, as she could nip if pushed beyond her comfort zone. Her second return came after she accidentally escaped through the front door. In the panic of the situation, she bit her adopter when they tried to catch her, and it was decided that returning her to us was the best option. Arctic is now settling into foster care, where she has already started to show us more of her wonderful personality. She found the first couple of days quite stressful and spent a lot of time pacing while she explored her new surroundings, but she has settled well and is becoming much more relaxed. She is a very curious girl who likes to know what is going on and will happily follow her foster family from room to room to see what they are doing. She has been mostly clean during the day, although she has had the occasional overnight accident as she adjusts to her new routine. Arctic sleeps quietly overnight in her crate and is always pleased to see her foster carer in the morning, eagerly waiting for her breakfast. Arctic is still a very anxious girl and remains particularly worried about being touched or handled. However, she is already making gentle progress. She is slowly learning to trust her foster carer, who is able to carefully pick her up using a blanket and gently groom her, during which she will accept handling and strokes. She has even started choosing to sit on the sofa alongside her foster carer and the other dogs, although she is not yet comfortable with being touched whilst relaxing. Everything is very much on Arctic's terms, and she is showing that, with patience, she is capable of building trusting relationships. She will need a very special, adult-only home with adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs. If she feels pushed beyond her comfort zone, she can make the wrong decisions purely out of fear, so her new family will need to be patient, understanding and committed to helping her continue building her confidence over the long term. She may never be a lap dog, but she is a lovely girl who will show her affection in her own quiet ways, and watching her grow in confidence will be incredibly rewarding. Arctic had never experienced life in a home before her adoption. Although she spent around six months in her most recent home and is now continuing to learn in foster care, she will still need adopters who understand that she may need a refresher with house training and time to adjust to a new routine. She has started learning about wearing a harness and, once the warmer weather has passed, her foster carer will continue this training. She is still at the very beginning of her lead walking journey, so she will need a home with a secure garden where she can safely enjoy the outdoors while she builds her confidence. One thing Arctic has always loved is the company of other dogs. They are her greatest source of comfort and reassurance, and we feel she would thrive in a home with multiple confident resident dogs, as she relies on canine company so much. She has impeccable doggy manners and gets on brilliantly with all of the dogs in her foster home. She can have a bit of a strong personality, so her resident dogs will need to be happy with her occasionally being a little bossy. She is also happily living alongside a cat in foster care and takes no notice of them. Arctic is looking for a home that will love her for exactly who she is, rather than who they hope she might become. She is already showing that she enjoys the comforts of home, from curling up on a soft bed to relaxing on the sofa with her canine friends. With experienced adopters, patient guidance and confident canine companions by her side, we truly believe Arctic will continue to blossom and enjoy the happy, secure future she so deserves. When Arctic originally came to us, she had some fur loss, but this has grown back wonderfully. She also had an enlarged mammary gland, but our vets are not concerned about this at present, although it may require monitoring by her adopters and their own vet. She is currently receiving treatment for some small patches of chronic dermatitis on her lower lip. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
