Newton je středního velikosti kříženec ve věku kolem čtyř let. Nebyl testován s kočkami, ale mohl by být. Bude potřebovat přítomného psa. Děti 12 a více. Newton a jeho sourozenci byli přijati rumunským soukromým chráništěm v době, kdy vybruslila válka v Ukrajině. Bylo mnoho situací, kdy Rumunsko pomohlo opuštěným psům z Ukrajiny, když lidé uprchli ze země a nechali je za sebou. Sourozenci vyrostli v chráništi a bohužel nikdy neměli možnost dostat domov. První ze čtyř přišel minulý rok a byl šťastně adoptován. Samozřejmě nám bude následovat zbývající dva. Kvůli nedostatku interakce s lidmi jsou skupina trochu zdráhavá u cizích, ale jsou velmi šťastní a přátelští psi, jakmile se naučí znát svého nového majitele. Newton bude potřebovat další sebejistého psa ve svém trvalém domově a bude chtít rodinu bez dětí mladších 12 let. Vyhání se vysoko v UK dočasném domě a je velmi rychlý učitel. Původně byl odporčí k chůzi na řetězu, ale teď si užívá nové dobrodružství venku. Je mnoho zážitků, které na něj čekají, jen potřebuje někoho, kdo mu dá směr! Newton byl dočasně umístěn v Fakenham Norfolk. Pokud máte zájem, napište nebo zavolejte mezi 9:00 a 17:00 pondělí pátek nebo mezi 9:00 a 16:00 sobotu. Starší psi (10+ let): 150–250 £ (podle věku a individuální potřeby). Podmínky pro adopci Když vezmete psa od Safe Rescue, musíte použít tazák. Tím budete mít svého psa v bezpečí: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nevěří vám a nebudete vědět, které situace mohou vašeho psa rozrušit. Pokud se pes v panice zmocní, jediný způsob, jak zabránit jeho útěku (mnoho psců může uniknout z obojku a/nebo sedačky), je tazák. Bude potřeba alespoň 3–6 měsíců, než se pes usadí a vy ho plně poznáte (pro nervózní psy déle). Tazák musí být během tohoto období vždy použit. I poté, co se pes usadí, je nejbezpečnější použít tazák v situacích, kdy se může pes strachovat (např. návštěvy nových míst, okolo neznámých lidí, u veterináře) a v situacích, kde mohou nastat neočekávané triggerové události (např. kolem svátku ohňů). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit tazák jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Tazák je bezpečnostní zařízení a nikdy nesmí být použit jako nástroj tréninku. Použití tazáku k přitlačení krku psa je škodlivé. Pokud pes táhne tazákem, můžeme vám poradit metodami tréninku, které nezpůsobují škodu. Jakmile se pes usadí, můžete zvážit použití sedačky (spolu s tazákem), pokud pes snese manipulaci s ní. Většina sedaček není unikací odolná, ale sedačky s řemenným pruhem za žebrami (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit Harnesses) jsou bezpečnější. Retraktabilní / prodlužovací řetězy nesmějí být použity na naše psy. Adopce psa musí být vybrána z chrániště a dopravena přímo domů v bezpečné ocelové krabici. Zdi a brány musí být minimálně 5 stop vysoké a pevné. Newton is a medium sized crossbreed aged around four years old. Not cat tested but could be. Would need a resident dog. Children 12 plus. Newton and his siblings were taken in by a Romanian private shelter when war broke out in Ukraine. There were many situations at that time when Romania stepped up to help the abandoned dogs of Ukraine as people fled the country and left them behind. The siblings grew up in the shelter and sadly were never offered homes. The first of the four came over last year and was happily adopted. We will of course help the other two shortly. Due to not interacting with many humans the group are a little hand shy with strangers but very happy and friendly dogs once they’ve gotten to know you well. Newton will need another confident dog in his forever home and would like a family with no children under the age of twelve. He is doing so well in his UK foster home and is a very fast learner. He was reluctant to walk on a lead initially but is now loving the new adventures of the outside world. Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
