Isadora je středně velký kříženec ve věku dvou až tří let. Isadora byla přijata do veřejného shelteru Botosani v Rumunsku, spolu s nezapamatovaným počtem sourozenců, když byla ještě kojenkou. Je to příklad proč pracujeme tak tvrdě, abychom dostali všechny štěňata, dokud jsou ještě štěňata. Vyrostla tam, strávila tam své dospívání, nikdy neviděla ven z jednoduchého betonového výběhu. Ztratila si hloupost a bezstarostný postoj mládí, protože se soustředila na přežití. Když jsme ji potkali ve dvou letech, naučila se být opatrná k některým lidem a nikdy nepoznala pocit trávy pod nohama. Přišla sem několik týdnů zpět a musela si to všechno učit od začátku. Jak vidíte z jejích fotek, učila se dobře a docela rychle! Nyní je to pohodlný chlapík, který se odváží vstoupit do skupiny ve svém fyzickém domě. Je iniciátorem většiny her, pokusí se vzít naše dort během kávové pauzy (závažné hříchy) a je obecně zvědavá na všechno. Isadora má ráda naši společnost, bude se velmi rozrušeně rozhodovat, když kdokoli přijde, a bodne je nosem, ale je stále velmi napjatá při dotyku a pokusí se změnit každý pokus o lásku a péči jinou hrou. Láska přijde s časem a to, co může naučit během prvních týdnů a měsíců v jejím trvalém domě. Bude potřebovat trpělivého a porozumění adoptivce s nejméně jedním dalším psa, který odpovídá její hravosti a energii. Získává sebedůvěru na procházkách a samozřejmě budeme pokračovat v školení vedle, když ještě je s námi. Ale je připravena odejít teď a pokračovat ve svém vývoji a růstu v prostředí, které stráví zbytek svého života. Isadora bude potřebovat zkušeného adoptivce, který pochopí vše, co jí bylo v raném životě odepřeno. Bude potřebovat trpělivost a směrnice, ale již ukazuje, jak dobrá bude, až se zbaví posledních strachů. Může žít s respektujícími dětmi staršími 12 let. Tento pes prošel testem na kočky, takže může žít s kočkami, které znají psy. Isadora byla v péči Norwich Norfolk. Politika adopce Při adopci psa z Safe Rescue musíte použít řetězovou kličku. To vám zachrání psa: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nebude vám důvěřovat, a vy nebudete vědět, které situace mohou vašeho psa znervóznit. Pokud pes zpanikaří, pak je řetězová klička jediný způsob, jak zabránit útěku psa (mnoho psů může uniknout z obojku a/nebo pásu). Budou potřeba minimálně 3–6 měsíců, aby váš pes uprostřed a aby jste plně poznali svého psa (delší pro nervózní psy). Řetězová klička musí být vždy použita během tohoto období. I poté, co bude pes uprostřed, je nejbezpečnější použít řetězovou kličku v situacích, kdy pes může být vystrašen (například navštěva nových míst, kolem cizích lidí, u veterináře), a v situacích, kde mohou nastat neočekávané triggerové události (například kolem ohňostrojů). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit řetězovou kličku jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Řetězová klička je bezpečnostní zařízení a nesmí být nikdy použita jako nástroj tréninku. Použití řetězu k aplikaci tlaku na krk psa je škodlivé. Pokud váš pes táhne řetězem, můžeme vám poradit s tréninkovými metodami, které nezpůsobí škodu. Jakmile se pes usadí, můžete zvážit použití pásu (společně s řetězovou kličkou), pokud pes bude komfortní s dotykem při nasazení. Většina pásů není unikací odolná, ale pásy s řetězem za žebrami (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit pásy) jsou bezpečnější. Retraktélní / roztažitelné řetězy nesmí být použity na naše psy. Adopční psi musí být vybráni z rescue a transportovány přímo domů v krabici. Ohrady a brány musí mít min. 1,5 m a být bezpečné. Isadora is a two to three year old medium sized crossbreed. Isadora was taken into the Botosani public shelter in Romania, along with an unremembered number of siblings, when she was just a baby. She is an example of why we work so hard to get all pups out while they are still pups. She grew up there, spent her adolescence there, never seeing the outside of her concrete pen. She missed out on the silliness and care free attitude of youth because she was concentrating on staying alive. When we met her at two years old she had learnt to be cautious of some people and she hadn’t experienced as much as the feeling of grass under her feet. She arrived here a few weeks ago and she had to learn it all from scratch. As you can see from her pics, the girl has learnt well and she has learnt pretty fast! She is now a cheeky character who dares to push herself forward in the pack in her foster home. She is the instigator of most of the games, she tries to take our cake when we have a coffee break (cardinal sin) and she is generally curious about everything. Isadora loves to be around us, she will get so excited when anyone comes round and she will boop them with her nose, but she is still very tense when stroked and will try to change any attempts of love and affection into another game. The loving bit will come with time and it’s something she can learn over the first weeks and months in her forever home. She will need a patient and understanding adopter with at least one other dog that will match her playfulness and energy. She is gaining confidence on walks and we will, of course, continue her lead training while she’s with us. But she is ready to move on now and continue her development and growth in the environment she gets to spend the rest of her life in. Isadora will need an experienced adopter who will understand all that she was deprived of in her early life. She will need patience and guidance but is already showing how great she will be once her last fears are overcome. She could live with respectful children aged twelve plus. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer.
