Thelma je středního velikosti kříženec věku okolo devíti let. Ještě není testována na kočky. Může žít s jinými psy nebo bez nich. Vyžaduje dospělé prostředí. Thelma se k nám nedávno připojila z veřejného shelteru Botosani v Rumunsku. Viděli jsme ji tam mnoho let, ale nebyli jsme schopni ji hodnotit a poznat, protože pes, se kterým byl v kleci, byl tak agresivní. V březnu, kdy jsme znovu navštívili, rozhodla jsem se riskovat a vybrala ji ven a zjistila jsem, že je skvělá... Byla jsem nakousnutá jiným psem, když jsem ji vrátila do klece, ale naprosto to stálo za to, teď, když je tady v UK. Thelma se dobře smíchává s dalšími psy v jejím dočasném domě, ale mohla by být i jediným psem v jejím trvalém domě. Chodí hezky na řetězu a užívá si procházky, ale potřebuje zvýšit svoji kondici po tak dlouhé době v zajetí. Potřebuje dospělé prostředí. Thelma byla dočasně v Norwich Norfolk. Pokud máte zájem, napište nebo zavolejte mezi 9:00 a 17:00 pondělí pátek nebo mezi 9:00 a 16:00 sobotu. Poplatky za adopci jsou: Kuřata již sterilizovaná a všechny dospělé psy: £430. Nesterilizovaná kuřata pod smlouvou o sterilizaci: £530 (dostanete £100 slevu, jakmile nám pošlete důkaz o sterilizaci). Starší psi (10+ let): £150–£250 (podle věku a individuálních potřeb). Podmínky adopce Když adoptujete psa od Safe Rescue, musíte použít zábradlí. To drží vašeho psa v bezpečí: váš nový pes bude nervózní a nebude vám důvěřovat a nebudete vědět, které situace mohou psa rozrušit. Pokud váš pes zpanikaří, zábradlí je jediný způsob, jak zabránit unikání psa (mnoho psů může uniknout z krku a/nebo postele). Bude potřeba alespoň 3-6 měsíců, než se pes usadí a vy ho plně poznáte (delší čas pro nervózní psy). Zábradlí musí být vždy použito během tohoto období usazování. I poté, co se pes usadí, je nejbezpečnější použít zábradlí v situacích, kde může pes být strach (např. návštěva nových míst, kolem cizích lidí, u veterináře), a situacích, kde mohou nastat neočekávané triggerové události (např. během ohňostrojové noci). Nervózní psi mohou vždy nosit zábradlí jako záložní bezpečnostní opatření. Zábradlí je bezpečnostní zařízení a nesmí nikdy být použito jako nástroj tréninku. Použití zábradlí k aplikaci tlaku na krk psa je škodlivé. Pokud váš pes táhne zábradlí, můžeme vám poradit metodami tréninku, které zabrání škodě. Jakmile se pes usadí, můžete zvážit použití sedačky (spolu s zábradlím), pokud pes je komfortní s obsluhou, když je nasazen. Většina sedaček není unikací ochranná, ale sedačky s páskem za žeber (např. Ruffwear Webmaster nebo Perfect Fit sedačky) jsou bezpečnější. Retraktabilní / roztažitelné řetězy nesmí být použity na naše psy. Adoptovaní psi musí být vybráni z rescue a převezeni přímo domů v bezpečné ocelové krabici. Thelma is a medium sized crossbreed aged around nine years old. Not yet cat tested. Can live with or without other dogs. Adult home required. Thelma has joined us recently from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. We have seen her in there for many years but have been unable to assess and get to know her because the dog she was in a pen with is so aggressive. In March when we visited again I decided to bite the bullet and risk it and got her out and found her to be delightful…. I got bitten by the other dog when I put her back in the pen but totally worth it now that she’s here in the UK. Thelma is mixing well with the other dogs in her foster home but could also be the only dog in her forever home. She walks nicely on a lead and enjoys her walks but will need to build up her fitness level after so many years of incarceration. She will need an adult home environment. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
