Tento mladý mastif je opravdu veselý a dobrého vztahu. Je aktivní a hráčký podle svého věku a přistupuje ke všem lidem přátelsky, aniž by projevoval strach. Už jde docela dobře na řetězu, zná některé základní rozkazy a je ochotný učit se. Samozřejmě má hodně síly a musíte být pevní, když si tento velký chlapík všimne něčeho zajímavého. Rád získává lidskou pozornost a vždy chce být ošetřován! Plemeno španělský mastif s hlubokým, husitským hlasem je velmi sebejistý a ví, že děsí a vyvolává respekt u mnoha lidí i zvířat. I když má silný ochranný instinkt k cizím lidem a je proto vynikajícím strážným psem, nikdy nezaútočí bez důvodu. I když španělské psy chtějí chránit svou rodinu a odhodlaně ji obrání, díky svému intelektu jsou schopny posoudit, kdy je třeba jednat a kdy ne. Obecně jsou španělské psy velmi vyrovnané a laskavé. Mají vysoký prah podnětu a nejsou snadno rušené jinými psi.
