Este joven Mastín es un perro muy alegre y de buen humor. Es activo y juguetón según su edad, y se acerca a todas las personas de manera amistosa, sin mostrar ningún miedo. Ya camina bastante bien en correa, conoce algunos comandos básicos y es un aprendiz ávido. Por supuesto, tiene mucha fuerza y tienes que estar firme cuando este gran tipo ve algo interesante. Le encanta la atención humana y siempre quiere ser mimado. La raza del Mastín Español, con su voz profunda y grave, es muy segura de sí misma y sabe que intimida y exige respeto a muchas personas y animales. Aunque tiene un fuerte instinto de protección hacia los extraños y por eso es un excelente perro guardián, nunca atacaría sin razón. Aunque los Mastines Españoles quieren proteger a su familia y la defenderían hasta el extremo, gracias a su inteligencia, pueden evaluar cuándo es necesario actuar y cuándo no lo es. En general, los perros españoles son muy equilibrados y de buen carácter. Tienen un alto umbral de estimulación y no se alteran fácilmente por otros perros. Su carácter vivo y alegre, así como su dulce y casi tierno trato con sus seres queridos, hacen del Mastín Español un perro de trabajo y guardia valorado, así como un excelente perro de compañía para la familia. El Mastín Español se siente más cómodo en el círculo de su familia, a quien también adora, y es especialmente cariñoso con los niños.
