Na začátku této týdne přišly do naší péče dvě krásné dívky se skutečně zoufalými příběhy. Vítejte 5leté Treacle a 5leté Toffee v rodině Geordie Bullies. Dívky byly předány místním psem (kennel) jejich majitelem, když měl podle něj potřebu změnit bydliště a nemohl je s sebou vzít. Avšak od té doby jsme zjistili, že žily venku v kennelích a po tom, co jsme viděli, jak přišly, bohužel věříme, že jejich příběh má mnohem víc. Treacle a Toffee se teď připojily k Bonitě a její rodině v Midlands, kde začínají pomalu prožívat pohodlí, teplo a bezpečí skutečného domova. Nečekaně přišly obě dívky velmi nervózně a zmateně a možná je to jejich první skutečné život ve středověkém domácím prostředí. Všechno je pro ně nové – lidé, láska, rutina, pohodlí – ale s trpělivostí, ujištěním a spoustou péče začínají už krásně usazovat. Dívky obzvlášť rády stráví čas v zahradě a šťastně sdílejí své prostředí, pod dozorem, s domácími psy. Sledování toho, jak se pomalu uklidňují a začínají cítit bezpečně, bylo již velmi emocionální. Byli jsme velmi znepokojeni zdravotním stavem obou dívek, takže včera navštívily vetiny plné zdravotní vyšetření. Treacle trpí vážným suchým očím a mírným entropionem. Její oči byly kontrolovány na jizvy, ale bohužel mlžnost se zdá být způsobena zraněním z důvodu nezpracovaného onemocnění po příliš dlouhou dobu. Také jsme se obávali jejího dýchání a možná bude potřeba BOAS operace, i když bude potřeba další hodnocení, aby byla určena závažnost a zda bude operace definitivně potřeba. Kožní stav Tooffee je momentálně červený, bolestivý a velmi plísněný. Teď dostala léky, které pomohou zvládnout její kožní problémy a alergie a s správným léčením a spoustou lásky jsme naději, že brzy začne cítit mnohem komfortnější a šťastnější. Je také smutně jasné, že obě dívky byly dříve použity k chovu. Z jejich stavu a okolností, ze kterých přišly, věříme, že možná strávily většinu svého života využíváním produkování štěňat pro zisk a pak byly zahozeny jako nic. Ale tento život je za nimi. Treacle a Toffee, vítejte v rodině Geordie Bullies. Od tohoto dne budete vědět jen lásku, bezpečí, pohodlí a laskavost. Nemůžeme se dočkat, abychom sledovali, jak se obě uzdravujete, rozkvétáte a konečně si užijete šťastný život, který vždy zasloužíte. At the start of this week, two beautiful girls arrived into our care with truly heartbreaking stories. Please welcome 5-year-old Treacle and 5-year-old Toffee to the Geordie Bullies family. The girls were handed over to local kennels by their owner after supposedly needing to move house and being unable to take them along. However, we have since learned they had been living outside in kennels, and after seeing the condition they arrived in, we sadly believe there is far more to their story. Treacle and Toffee have now joined Bonita and her family in the Midlands, where they are slowly beginning to experience the comfort, warmth, and safety of a real home environment. Unsurprisingly, both girls arrived extremely stressed and overwhelmed, and it may even be their first time properly living inside a family home. Everything is new to them — the people, the love, the routine, the comfort — but with patience, reassurance, and plenty of TLC, they are already beginning to settle beautifully. The girls especially love spending time in the garden and have been happily sharing their space, under supervision, with the resident dogs. Watching them slowly relax and start to feel safe has already been incredibly emotional. We were very concerned about both girls’ health, so they visited the vets yesterday for full health checks. Treacle is suffering from severe dry eye and mild entropion. Her eyes were checked for ulcers, but sadly the cloudiness appears to be scarring caused by her condition being left untreated for far too long. We were also concerned about her breathing, and she may require BOAS surgery, although she will need further assessments to determine the severity and whether surgery will definitely be needed. Toffee’s skin is currently red, sore, and extremely yeasty. She has now been prescribed medication to help get her skin and allergies under control and, with the right treatment and lots of love, we are hopeful she will soon begin feeling far more comfortable and happy. It is also heartbreakingly clear that both girls have previously been used for breeding. From their condition and the circumstances they came from, we believe they may have spent much of their lives being used to produce puppies for profit before being discarded as though they meant nothing. But that life is behind them now. Treacle and Toffee, welcome to your Geordie Bullies family. From this day forward, you will only ever know love, safety, comfort, and kindness. We cannot wait to watch you both heal, thrive, and finally enjoy the happy lives you have always deserved.
