Bella adoptieren

Bella is a sensitive and affectionate girl who has already had quite a journey with us and is now patiently waiting for the right forever home. Bella originally came to us from a breeder and has since experienced home life for the first time, including a short stay in foster care and a brief adoption. She settled really well in her foster home and coped well with the transition to home life, however she struggled more in the adoptive home. She didn’t settle as well and had a few moments of panic, and the adopters didn’t feel as though they had the right experience to help her. Bella is ready to find her forever family, but she will need a calm, quiet, adult-only home with adopters who have experience with rescue dogs and can offer patience, structure, and reassurance. Bella can form a strong bond with her main caregiver and may show signs of separation anxiety, so adopters will need to be around all day initially and gradually build up the time she is able to be left. Since returning to the rescue, Bella has truly begun to blossom. She has a calm and happy presence and is showing her affectionate nature more and more each day. She seeks out human contact, enjoying gentle fusses under her ears, back and bum rubs, and will happily nudge for more attention. She is also very food motivated, which helps to build her confidence and encourages her to try new things. She has formed a strong bond with familiar staff and clearly thrives with kind, consistent handling. Bella is currently kennelled with four other dogs and, despite being the largest, she is gentle and gets along beautifully with them. She will need at least one kind, confident resident dog in her new home to continue offering reassurance and guidance as she grows in confidence. Her harness training is progressing well in quiet areas, where she is happy to trot along, enjoy sniffing, and take treats. Busier environments are still more challenging for her, so her adopters will need to continue this training slowly and at her pace. Previously, Bella would yelp when being handled so had thorough veterinary checks to make sure it’s not pain related. Since bonding with staff she no longer does this so she was just a very worried lady but has done amazingly with kind, slow handling. Bella is a sensitive soul who has not had the easiest start in life, but she is trying her absolute best to be brave. With time, patience, a calm environment, and the support of a canine companion, she has the potential to become a deeply loving, loyal, and devoted little girl. Bella is waiting for someone special who can see the wonderful dog she is and give her the chance she so truly deserves. Bella is currently being treated for mild conjunctivitis in her right eye. This dog can be homed with a resident dog. This dog can be homed with cats.
