Bella

Cockapoo · Female · Adult · 5 years

Bella is a sensitive and affectionate girl who has already had quite a journey with us and is now patiently waiting for the right forever home. Bella originally came to us from a breeder and has since experienced home life for the first time, including a previous foster placement and a brief adoption. Whilst she settled well in foster care, she found the transition into her adoptive home more challenging and had a few moments of panic. Her adopters felt they did not have the experience needed to help her through this, so Bella returned to our care. Bella is now back in a foster home and is settling in really well. This time around, she seems much more comfortable in the home environment and appears to understand home life a lot better. She has quickly found comfort in familiar routines, sleeps peacefully in her chosen resting area, and is showing us that her confidence continues to grow with time and patience. Bella enjoys getting out for walks and is doing well with her ongoing harness training. She can still be cautious when out and about, particularly in unfamiliar situations, but she is improving as she settles and gains confidence. She enjoys taking things at her own pace and benefits from calm encouragement and reassurance from the people she trusts. As Bella becomes more comfortable in foster care, her affectionate personality is shining through more and more. She has formed a lovely bond with her foster mum and will often seek out gentle fuss and attention when she is feeling relaxed. She enjoys quiet companionship, gentle strokes, and being close to the people she trusts. It has been wonderful to see her confidence levels growing as she learns that the world can be a safe and predictable place. Bella is ready to find her forever family, but she will need a calm, quiet, adult-only home with adopters who have experience with rescue dogs and can offer patience, structure, and reassurance. Bella can form a strong bond with her main caregiver and may show signs of separation anxiety, so adopters will need to be around all day initially and gradually build up the time she is able to be left. Bella gets on beautifully with other dogs and takes great comfort from their presence. We feel she would benefit from having at least one kind, confident resident dog in her forever home who can continue to offer reassurance and help guide her as she navigates new experiences. Previously, Bella would yelp when being handled, so she underwent thorough veterinary checks to ensure there was no underlying pain. Since building trusting relationships with familiar people, she no longer does this, showing just how much her worries have eased through kind, patient handling and positive experiences. Bella is a sensitive soul who has not had the easiest start in life, but she is trying her absolute best to be brave. Every day she is showing us a little more of the wonderful dog she is becoming. With time, patience, a calm environment, and the support of a canine companion, she has the potential to become a deeply loving, loyal, and devoted little girl. Bella is waiting for someone special who can see how far she has come and give her the forever home she so truly deserves. Bella has been treated for mild conjunctivitis in her right eye. About Bella

What life with Bella looks like

Bella is a small adult cockapoo dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Fear-based behavioral issues, separation anxiety, requires adult-only home with experienced handlers

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
