Adoptar a Dennis (Denny)

Dennis es un border collie que fue abandonado en una propiedad cuando su dueño emigró. Es un perro dulce y centrado en las personas que busca un hogar rural donde finalmente recibirá el tiempo y el cariño que merece. Por ahora Denny necesita un enfoque suave porque cada vez que te acercas a él se estremece esperando lo peor. Solo quiere confiar y se apretará contra ti y te seguirá felizmente una vez que entienda que no recibirá un azote de ti. Dennis ama su cama y es muy limpio en su jaula considerando que nunca ha vivido en el interior antes. Denny es un border collie clásico, puede concentrarse de forma intensa y nos gustaría un hogar donde esta concentración se pueda dirigir a algo productivo como juegos con juguetes, búsquedas y exploraciones o simplemente entrenamiento constante donde escuche y responda a órdenes. Largos paseos estimulantes también serían un plus. Es un chico inteligente Dennis, pero todo en la vida es nuevo para él. El tráfico y las multitudes y conocer a otros perros son todas experiencias nuevas. Juega bien con todas las hembras que ha conocido pero es más cauteloso con los machos. Su reciente castración ayudará a reducir su intensidad pero no hay duda de que este chico necesita un hogar rural, activo e interactivo con muchas oportunidades para trabajar mente y cuerpo. Sabemos que había gatos en la propiedad de Denny (estamos manejando esos también) así que anticipamos que estará bien con gatos en un nuevo hogar. No consideraremos hogares donde haya niños pequeños debido a que se sobresalta con movimientos repentinos.

Dennis was a farm-collie who was left abandoned on a property when his owner emigrated. He is a sweet people-focused dog who is looking for a rural home where he will finally receive the time and affection he deserves. For now Denny needs a softly-softly approach because every time you approach him he winces expecting the worst. He is only dying to trust and will press himself into you and follow you happily once he understands that he isn’t going to get a belt off you. Dennis loves his bed and is very clean in his kennel considering he will never have lived inside before. Dennis also wears the badge of “most-improved dog” in kennels. When he arrived he would hyper-focus on every noise and movement, and was occasionally dodgy with male dogs. Fast-forward 6 weeks and a quick neutering and he has truly settled into being everyone’s most reliable dog! We walk him with every dog – small, large, cheeky or mellow, he is loving discovering what play and doggie-companionship are! This lad is clever and he is loyal. He is going to make a super pet for someone who lives in a rural setting. He just wants to follow you and interact and if you have another dog, so much the better! He is a smart lad Dennis, but everything in life is new to him. Traffic and crowds and meeting other dogs are all new experiences. Living in a home will also be a new experience – which he is going to love – but should be borne in mind when it comes to house-training. We know that there were cats on Denny’s property (we are dealing with those too!) so we anticipate that he will be fine with cats in a new home. Children 12+ for Dennis. A secure garden is not essential depending on the location of the home.
