Personalidad y comportamiento Sonia fue rescatada en julio de 2023 después de que su dueño la dejara y abandonara a los perros bajo su cuidado. Afortunadamente, los vecinos notaron lo que estaba sucediendo y pidieron ayuda. Gracias a ellos, pudimos rescatar a Sonia junto con sus cinco cachorros y dos perros adultos más (Poppy). Lamentablemente, sus cachorros se enfermaron gravemente con parvovirus y cuatro de ellos no sobrevivieron. Fue un comienzo muy difícil para su nueva vida, pero Sonia mostró cuán fuerte y dedicada es como madre. Desde que llegó al refugio, Sonia ha estado aprendiendo lentamente a confiar nuevamente. Aún es un poco tímida y puede ladrar cuando se siente insegura, pero esto es simplemente su forma de protegerse mientras va comprendiendo las cosas. La buena noticia es que está avanzando, camina bastante bien con correa y va ganando confianza con las personas con el tiempo. Requisitos para la adopción Tipo de hogar: Sonia funcionaría mejor en un hogar tranquilo y paciente donde pueda seguir construyendo su confianza. Experiencia: Un dueño paciente y amable que entienda su personalidad sumisa y reservada y que le dé el tiempo que necesita para construir confianza. Otros animales / niños: Posiblemente con otro perro tranquilo que pueda ayudarla a sentirse más segura, ya que aún está aprendiendo a confiar, Sonia probablemente se adaptaría mejor con niños mayores y amables o en un hogar para adultos. Personality & BehaviorSonia was rescued in July 2023 after her owner left and abandoned the dogs in his care. Thankfully, the neighbours noticed what was happening and reached out for help. Because of them, we were able to rescue Sonia along with her five puppies and two other adult males (Poppy)Sadly, her puppies became very ill with Parvo, and four of them did not survive. It was a very difficult start to her new life, but Sonia showed how strong and devoted she is as a mother.Since arriving at the shelter, Sonia has been slowly learning to trust again. She is still a little shy and may bark when she feels unsure, but this is simply her way of protecting herself while she figures things out. The good news is that she is making progress, she is walking quite well on the leash and becoming more comfortable with people over time.
