Adoptar a Swift
Border Collie · Macho · Senior · 15 años
Swift is a wonderful boy who has settled in beautifully to his foster home. His foster carers describe him as a joy to care for and we know with some time and patience he will make a lovely companion. Swift is an older boy so he does have some ongoing medical needs, including arthritis which he currently on pain relief for. This will need to be monitored and continued in his forever home. Home requirements: Golden oldie Swift has found himself back in our care for no fault of his own. Swift is currently living off site in a foster home, where he shares the home with two resident dogs. He could share his forever home with another dog, with a similar calm temperament to him. He has lived with a cat previously and we think he could do again following gradual introductions. He is housetrained and has enjoyed settling back into all the comforts home life has to offer. Swift has also been happy spending an hour or so home alone, which we think could gradually be built up as he settles in to his forever home. Ideally Swift would love a quiet and peaceful retirement home where he can enjoy his walkies and snoozes in a lovely comfy bed. He loves to get out and about exploring new places, but much prefers rural areas than busy roads. He enjoying playing on his longline and is making lots of progress with his recall training with his foster carer. Swift would like a home with adults only who can understand he prefers the peace, quiet and time on his own. Swifts favourite thing in the world is food and this is coming in handy for teaching him a few new skills such as learning to wear a muzzle for when he sees the vet. He can become overwhelmed by too much handling and would like adopters who can spend a some time building a relationship with him before he goes home. Once relaxing and trusting, Swift shows his affectionate side. Available at Kenilworth (West Midlands), Kenilworth

Swift is all about the simple pleasures — gentle countryside strolls, sniffing new scents, and long, peaceful snoozes in a cosy bed. Busy environments aren’t his style; he much prefers a calm, rural setting where he can explore at his own pace. He enjoys pottering around on his longline and is making lovely progress with his recall, especially when treats are involved. Swift can sometimes feel overwhelmed with too much handling, so he’s looking for patient adopters who will go at his pace and build a trusting bond. Once he feels safe, his gentle and affectionate nature really shines through. As a senior boy, Swift does have some ongoing medical needs, including arthritis, which is currently well managed with pain relief. His future family will need to continue supporting this to keep him happy, comfortable, and enjoying his well-earned retirement. If you’ve got a soft spot for golden oldies and are looking for a gentle companion to share life’s quieter moments, Swift might just be your perfect match. Through no fault of his own, this lovely senior boy has found himself back in our care, but he’s taking it all in his stride and showing what a special soul he is. In his foster home, Swift has been happily living alongside two calm dogs and has settled beautifully into a relaxed routine. He could share his forever home with another easy-going dog, and as he has previously lived with a cat, we believe he could do so again with slow, thoughtful introductions. Swift is housetrained, loves the comforts of home, and would suit an adult-only household where he can truly relax. He’s also been content being left for short periods, which could gradually be built up over time.
