Marita tuli tarhalle äitinsä Miladan kanssa, ja myöhemmin saimme tietoon, että hänen veljensä Leonard sekä siskonsa Arlo ja Wendy oli jätetty tarhaan vain muutama päivä aiemmin. Milada oli heitetty ulos pentuna, ja hänen edellisen omistajansa naapurit olivat yrittäneet kaveldaa hänen kanssaan vuoden ajan. Kun hän oli synnyttänyt Maritan ja sen sisarukset, he pystyivät laittamaan hänelle kaulapannan ja tuomaan ne tarhalle. Marita came to the shelter with her mum, Milada, and we later found out that her brother, Leonard and sisters, Arlo and Wendy were dumped at the shelter only days prior. Milada had been thrown out as a pup and the neighbours of her previous owner had spent a year trying to befriend her. After she had given birth to Marita and her siblings they were able to get a collar on her and bring them up to the shelter. Marita grew into a big, beautiful girl and is still with us today.
