Ennen kuin Sam ja hänen veljensä ja täystyttörensä tuli hoitoomme, he eivät ole koskaan jättäneet kotiaan ja pihamaata. He eivät ole koskaan astuneet ulos suureen maailmaan ja tuloksena saimme kolme erittäin pelokasta, ahdistunutta ja sosiaalisuudessa jäänyttä koirapientä hoitamme. 😔 Sam, Frank ja Able löysivät uuden kotinsa ei kauan sen jälkeen kun ne saapuivat, mutta valitettavasti jonkin ajan kuluttua kotiinsa hänelle havaittiin, että Samin tarpeet olivat paljon suurempia kuin aluksi odotettiin ja me yritämme nyt etsiä Samille sopivamman kotirakenteen hänen tarpeisiinsa. Sam on erittäin kaunis poika. Hän voi olla epävarma uusista ihmisistä ja hän voi haukota uusille vierailijoille taloon, mutta hän lämmittyy nopeasti ihmisiin runsaalla tukea ja makeilla ja hän rakastaa sylkiä ja huomiota luotettavilta ihmisiltä ja on hyvin rakastava. 🥰 Hän rakastaa pelaamista ja juoksemista turvallisissa kentissä ja, kuten näet, hän on myös erittäin osaava kantamaan kahden pallon kerrallaan! Hän on älykäs ja oppii asioita nopeasti ja hän on nyt täysin kotikäyttöön tottunut. 🙂 Sam on pelokas menemästä talosta kävelyyn, mutta kouluttajan apuna hän on tehnyt hyviä etoukkia ja hän voi nyt tehdä lyhyitä kävelyjä talosta ja puistossa. Ideaalinen Samin koti olisi hiljainen alue, jossa hän voi nauttia ulkoilusta. Hän voi olla varovainen muista tuntemattomista koirista ja hän on ollut reaktiivinen joillekin, mutta kouluttajan avulla se parantuu ja hän on tehnyt jo joitain kävelyjä muiden koiden kanssa. Uusi omistaja tarvitsee tunnetta siitä, että hän voi auttaa Samaa jatkamaan itsevarmuutensa kasvattamista muiden koiden kanssa ja jolla on aikaa työskennellä tämän parantamiseksi. Sam asui aiemmin pienemmän, vanhemman koiran kanssa, mutta he eivät olleet hyvä pariskunta ja me ajattelemme, että hän voisi hyötyä siitä, jos hän olisi ainoa koira kotona. Sam asui aiemmin 9-vuotiaan lapsen kanssa – he toivat hyvin yhdessä, mutta Samin koko ja energiaksi voivat olla hieman liian paljon ja Sam selvisi vaikeasti lapsen äänestä/energiasta. Hän sovituisi paremmin rauhalliseen, hiljaiseen kotiin ilman pieniä lapsia. Ajattelemme, että Sam tarvitsee kokemuksellisen kotirakenteen, joten emme rehommi samoa ensikertaisille koiranomistajille. Prior to coming into our care, Sam and his siblings had never left their house and yard. They had never stepped out into the big wide world and as a result, we welcomed 3 very scared, anxious and un-socialised puppies into our fold. 😔 Sam, Frank and Able all found new homes not too long after arriving but sadly, after some time in his home, it was realised that Sam's needs were much greater than initially anticipated and we are now trying to find Sam a home that is better suited to his needs. Sam is a very sweet boy. He can be nervous of new people and can bark at new visitors to the house, but he soon warms to people with lots of reassurance and treats and he loves cuddles and fusses with trusted people and is very affectionate. 🥰 He loves playing fetch and running around in secure fields and, as you can see, he is also highly skilled at carrying two balls at a time! He’s smart and learns things quickly and is now fully house trained. 🙂 Sam is nervous of leaving the house for a walk but with the help of a trainer has been making good progress and can now go on short walks from his house and at the park. Ideally, Sam would live in a quiet area where he can enjoy being outdoors. He can be wary of other unknown dogs and has been reactive to some, however, with the help of a trainer this is improving and he has now been on some walks with other dogs. The new owner will need to feel confident in helping Sam to continue to grow in confidence with other dogs and who has the time to spend working on improving this. Sam previously lived with a smaller, older dog but they weren't a good match and we feel he may benefit from being an only dog in the home. Sam previously lived with a 9 year old child – they got on well but Sam’s size and energy could be a bit much and Sam struggled with the noise/energy of a child. He would be better suited to a calmer, quieter home with no young children. We feel Sam needs an experienced home and therefore we won't be rehoming him to first time dog owners. We think that in the right home, Sam will have the opportunity to grow into a calm, more confident young chap. 💙 If you are an experienced home that has what Sam needs and can offer him his chance of a happy ever after then please get in touch with us on any day between 11am – 2pm 💕
