Wilma päätyi meidän huolehdukseemme kiireellisen pyynnön vuoksi kutsuttua hyväntekeväisyysjärjestöä Pawprints to Freedom [PPTF]. Hän asui Romanian leirikylässä, joka oli erittäin ylityökkyinen, kohinaista ja pelottava. Kun Wilma tuli heihin, hän oli sanottu ihmisille ystävälliseksi ja he pystyivät laittamaan hänelle vyötärön ja antamaan hänelle mahdollisuuden olla ulkona leirikylästä hieman. Mutta kun tilanne tiivistyi, ei voitu käyttää niin paljon 1-1 aikaa koirille. Kun vapauttajat vierailivat häntä yhden vuoden kuluttua, hän oli äärettömän pelokas ja ei koskaan jättänyt turvallisuuttaan kylmästä, kovasta puukennosta. Hän näytti vain pään ensimmäisenä ruoan aikaan. Se oli sydämenmurhaksi nähdä ero hänen ensimmäisessä kuvassa lähettämässä. Wilma tarvitsee hiljaisen kotitalouden, jossa on pitkävaikutteisia ja ymmärtävää adoptioita, kun hän oppii olemaan koira uudelleen ja nauttimaan elämästä. Wilma on osoittanut olevansa erittäin mukavassa koirien kanssa. Hän ei kuitenkaan vuorovaikuta, kun kaikki ihmiset ovat poissa. Hän on erittäin pelokas ihmisiä kohtaan, joten uskomme että häneltä tarvitaan vähintään toinen koiran kotona, joka olisi hänelle suopea ja opastaisi häntä. Koska Wilmaa ei vielä voida ottaa kiinni / laittaa hänelle kaulapainoa ja johtoa, ei ole turvallista tehdä kissatestiä, joten meidän täytyy etsiä kissattomaa kotia hänelle. Wilma näyttää keskiverto energiatasoa. Wilma ei ole koskaan asunut kotona, mutta toisen koiran seurassa uskomme että hän voi olla siedettyä olla 4–5 tuntia. Wilma on kauan siitä, kun hän voi saada kaulapainon ja johteen. Se kestää hyvin pitkään ennen kuin hän on varma tarpeeksi kävellä johteen kanssa. Wilma ei ole perusohjausta lainkaan, tämä tulee aikana, kun hän on sopeutunut uuteen kotiinsa ja oppinut luottamaan adoptioihinsa.

Wilma ended up in our care due to an urgent plea from a charity called Pawprints to Freedom . She was living in a shelter in Romania, it was very overcrowded, loud and scary. When Wilma first arrived with them, she was said to be friendly towards people and they were even able to get a harness on her and let her enjoy outside the shelter for a little while. As it got busier though, there can't be as much 1-1 time spent with the dogs. When volunteers visited her 1 year later, she was extremely fearful and would never leave the safety of her cold, hard, wooden kennel. The only time she'd pop her head out was for food. It was heart breaking to see the difference in her from the first picture they ever sent. Wilma will need a quiet home with patient and understanding adopters whilst she learns how to be a dog again and enjoy life. Wilma has shown to be very comfortable around dogs. She won't interact though until all humans have vacated. She's very fearful of humans and so we believe the she'll need at least one other dog in the home that would be kind to her and show her the ropes. As Wilma can not yet be handled / have a collar and lead put on her, there is no safe way for us to cat test her and so we will need to look for a cat free home for her. Wilma shows to have moderate energy levels Wilma has never lived in a home before however, with the company of another dog, we believe she could be ok to be left for up to 4-5 hours Wilma is a long way off being able to get a collar and lead on her. It will be a very long time until she is confident enough to walk on a lead. Wilma has no form of basic training, this will all come in time once she has settled into her new home and learns to trust her adopters.
