Wilma acabou em nosso cuidado devido a um apelo urgente de uma ONG chamada Pawprints to Freedom [PPTF]. Ela estava vivendo em um abrigo na Romênia, era muito lotado, barulhoso e assustador. Quando Wilma chegou com eles, ela era dita como amigável com as pessoas e até conseguiram colocar uma coleira nela e deixá-la aproveitar fora do abrigo por um pouco. À medida que ficou mais movimentado, não foi possível dedicar tanto tempo 1x1 com os cães. Quando voluntários a visitaram um ano depois, ela estava extremamente assustada e nunca saía da segurança de sua fria, dura e de madeira gaiola. A única vez que ela sairia a cabeça seria para comer. Foi de coração partido ver a diferença nela em comparação com a primeira foto que eles enviaram. Wilma precisará de um lar tranquilo com adotantes pacientes e compreensivos enquanto ela aprende a ser um cão novamente e aproveitar a vida. Wilma mostrou-se muito confortável ao redor de outros cães. Ela não interagirá, no entanto, até que todos os humanos tenham saído. Ela tem medo dos humanos e achamos que ela precisará de pelo menos outro cão em casa que seja gentil com ela e mostre o caminho. Como Wilma ainda não pode ser manipulada / ter uma coleira e guia colocadas nela, não há forma segura de testá-la com gatos e, portanto, precisaremos procurar um lar sem gatos para ela. Wilma demonstra níveis moderados de energia. Wilma nunca viveu em um lar antes, no entanto, com a companhia de outro cão, acreditamos que ela poderia ficar sozinha por até 4-5 horas. Wilma está muito longe de conseguir colocar uma coleira e guia nela. Será muito tempo até que ela esteja confiante o suficiente para andar com a guia. Wilma ended up in our care due to an urgent plea from a charity called Pawprints to Freedom . She was living in a shelter in Romania, it was very overcrowded, loud and scary. When Wilma first arrived with them, she was said to be friendly towards people and they were even able to get a harness on her and let her enjoy outside the shelter for a little while. As it got busier though, there can't be as much 1-1 time spent with the dogs. When volunteers visited her 1 year later, she was extremely fearful and would never leave the safety of her cold, hard, wooden kennel. The only time she'd pop her head out was for food. It was heart breaking to see the difference in her from the first picture they ever sent. Wilma will need a quiet home with patient and understanding adopters whilst she learns how to be a dog again and enjoy life. Wilma has shown to be very comfortable around dogs. She won't interact though until all humans have vacated. She's very fearful of humans and so we believe the she'll need at least one other dog in the home that would be kind to her and show her the ropes. As Wilma can not yet be handled / have a collar and lead put on her, there is no safe way for us to cat test her and so we will need to look for a cat free home for her. Wilma shows to have moderate energy levels Wilma has never lived in a home before however, with the company of another dog, we believe she could be ok to be left for up to 4-5 hours Wilma is a long way off being able to get a collar and lead on her. It will be a very long time until she is confident enough to walk on a lead. Wilma has no form of basic training, this will all come in time once she has settled into her new home and learns to trust her adopters.
