Mia arrived at the shelter through the police after a biting incident occurred in a public space, at a bus stop. Her past and life journey have left a significant mark on how she interacts with humans and her environment, which today calls for tailored and thoughtful care. Mia is a sensitive dog who forms very strong bonds with her primary human caregivers. She displays a particularly pronounced attachment, likely linked to her previous history with an owner living in conditions of severe hardship. This deeply bonded relationship provided her with certain emotional anchors, but it also contributed to the development of a strong emotional dependence on the people she becomes attached to. At first glance, Mia may appear wary of strangers. However, when we take the time to respect her pace and build a positive relationship with her, her behavior quickly evolves. Play, in fact, is a wonderful tool for fostering connection with her. By associating the presence of a new person with pleasant and rewarding experiences, Mia gradually learns to trust. Once this trust is established, she reveals a much more relaxed and endearing personality. As for daily life, unfortunately, we don’t know how Mia behaves in a home setting. Mia has never really experienced family life as most dogs do today. Therefore, her future adopters will need to be prepared to accompany her as she explores this new environment—with patience, consistency, and kindness. It will be crucial to give her the time she needs to settle in and gradually establish new routines and landmarks. Walks, shared activities, and playtime will undoubtedly serve as valuable tools for strengthening the bond with her and promoting her emotional well-being.

Mia est arrivée au refuge via les services de police suite à un incident de morsure survenu dans un espace public, à un arrêt de bus. Son passé et son parcours de vie ont laissé une empreinte importante sur sa manière d’interagir avec les humains et son environnement, ce qui nécessite aujourd’hui une prise en charge adaptée et réfléchie. Mia est une chienne sensible qui crée des liens très forts avec ses humains de référence. Elle présente un attachement particulièrement marqué, probablement en lien avec son histoire passée auprès d’un propriétaire vivant en situation de grande précarité. Cette relation fusionnelle lui a apporté certains repères, mais a également contribué à développer une forte dépendance affective envers les personnes auxquelles elle s’attache. Au premier abord, Mia peut se montrer méfiante avec les inconnus. Cependant, lorsqu’on prend le temps de respecter son rythme et de construire une relation positive avec elle, son comportement évolue rapidement. Le jeu est d’ailleurs un formidable levier pour créer du lien avec elle. C’est en associant la présence d’une nouvelle personne à des expériences agréables et valorisantes que Mia parvient progressivement à accorder sa confiance. Une fois cette confiance acquise, elle révèle une personnalité beaucoup plus détendue et attachante. Concernant la vie quotidienne, nous ne connaissons malheureusement pas son comportement en foyer. Mia n’a pas réellement connu la vie de famille telle que la plupart des chiens la vivent aujourd’hui. Ses futurs adoptants devront donc être prêts à l’accompagner dans la découverte de ce nouvel environnement, avec patience, cohérence et bienveillance. Il sera important de lui laisser le temps nécessaire pour prendre ses marques et construire progressivement ses nouveaux repères. Les promenades, les activités partagées et les moments de jeu constitueront sans aucun doute des outils précieux pour renforcer la relation avec elle et favoriser son équilibre émotionnel.
