Princess egy közepes méretű chow keresztezett, kb. öt éves. Még nem vizsgált macskával. Élhet más kutyákkal vagy egyedül is. Gyerekek 8 év felett. Princess az elmúlt időkben került hozzánk a romániai Botosani közösségi menhelyről. Az első néhány hónapban nem volt olyan rossz a helyzete a Botosaniban. Ő és a testvére egy magányos kettesben volt, és megvolt egymásnak, hogy összebújjanak és játszhassanak. Néhány hete szomorúan megtudtuk, hogy a testvére elment a menhelyről, ő pedig hátra maradt. Már az első pillanattól kezdve tervezgettük, hogyan tudjuk őt elhozni, mivel annyira megfájdult a szívünk a gondolatra, hogy mennyire szenvedhetett, és hogy hogyan nem értette volna, miért tűnt el hirtelen. Szívből sajnáltuk. Voltak akadályok az úton, és sokkal hosszabb ideig tartott, mint szerettem volna, de végül ő egy brit gondozó otthonban van, és jól érzi magát. Princess egy nagyon barátságos és vidám lány, aki azonnal beletartott a gondozó otthonba, és gyorsan viselkedett, mintha soha máshol nem is élt volna! Jól meggyűlik a gondozó testvéreihez, de boldogan élhetne egyedül is a végleges otthonában. Képes lenne megélni tiszteletteljes gyerekekkel, akik 8 év felettiek. Az agyagos kutyák mindig viselhetik a csúszó nyakörvet biztonsági háttereként. A csúszó nyakörv egy biztonsági eszköz, és soha nem lehet képzőanyagként használni. Nyakára nyomást gyakorló vezeték káros. Ha a kutya húzza a vezetéket, akkor segíthetünk olyan tanulási módszerekkel, amelyek nem okoznak kárt. Princess is a medium sized Chow cross aged around five years old. Not yet cat tested. Can live with or without other dogs. Children 8plus + Princess has come into our care recently from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. Life wasn’t so very terrible for her in the first few months of her stay at Botosani. Her and her brother were in a pen on their own and they had each other to snuggle up to and play with. A few weeks ago we were gutted to learn that her brother left the shelter and she remained behind. We’ve been conspiring to get her from the very second we knew he left as we were eaten up by how miserable she would be and how she simply wouldn’t understand why he suddenly vanished. Our hearts literally ached for her. We’ve had set backs along the way and it’s taken far longer than we wanted but, finally, she is in a UK foster home and she’s having a ball. Princess is an incredibly friendly and cheerful girl who settled instantly in her foster home and quickly behaved like she’d never lived anywhere else! She gets on well with her foster siblings but could also live happily as the only dog in her forever home. She could live with respectful children aged eight plus. Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Terms & Conditions When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a secure metal crate.
