Safira, a domestic cat, can travel to Germany on 07.08.2026 and is still looking for a suitable foster or permanent home. Safira is the mother of Astrid, Gundula, Levi, and Nox. Safira - the strong cat mother from the Buna Canal❤️ Buna means "the water-rich". A name that seems almost like a sign for Safira and her four babies. Because water does not stay where it is held. It finds its way, carries on and eventually finds a place where it can be calm. Exactly there, at the Buna Canal near Mostar, Safira was found with her four kittens Astrid, Gundula, Levi and Nox. In a box, with some food, water and milk by her side. Safira lay close to her little ones, kept them warm and made a protected beginning from the little that was left to her. Her body was her small roof, her heartbeat the first safe rhythm her babies knew. On closer inspection, she seemed to have known people. Not like a creature that only learned to keep distance, but like a mother who may have known a door, a voice, a place that was once hers. Her friendly, trusting nature makes her story even more touching, because somewhere between yesterday and today she must have lost exactly that.

Safira: die Mama vom Buna-Kanal, die jetzt selbst erst einmal ankommen muss ❤️ Safira wurde am Buna-Kanal bei Mostar gefunden. In einem Karton, mit etwas Futter, Wasser und Milch an ihrer Seite. Ganz nah bei ihr: ihre vier Babys Astrid, Gundula, Levi und Nox. Sie hielt ihre Kleinen warm, gab ihnen Nähe und machte aus diesem Karton für einen Moment das Sicherste, was sie ihnen geben konnte. Irgendwie wirkte Safira dabei, als hätte sie Menschen schon einmal gekannt. Als hätte es vielleicht einmal eine Tür gegeben, eine Stimme, einen Platz, der zu ihr gehörte. Inzwischen lebt Safira auf einer Pflegestelle. Ihre Babys sind groß genug geworden, um eigene Wege zu gehen. Und genau das war für Safira nicht leicht. Die
