Hello lovely people, I am the super sweet Sugarplum I originally came into care as a stray with my mum and two siblings. I’m a sociable girl once I get to know you, but I can be a little cautious at first and need time to warm up. When I’m comfortable, I do enjoy a gentle stroke—especially an ear tickle! I don’t mind being picked up for a short while, but I can become overstimulated, so I prefer not to be handled too much. I can be quite vocal, particularly at feeding time (I like to make sure I’m not forgotten! ) and I may even try to help myself by knocking food out of your hands. Treats are definitely the way to win me over. I’m a very intelligent cat and love puzzle feeders and food toys. I tend to show off my clever side at night when it’s nice and quiet. I’m currently on an obesity diet, so I’ll need support to stay healthy in my new home. I’m not a fan of other cats, although I’m less stressed seeing them than I used to be. However, I would still prefer to be the only pet in the home, ideally in a quieter area with fewer neighbouring cats. I would also prefer a home without young children, as I can become overstimulated by noise and too much handling. When I feel stressed, I may overgroom, which has caused some patches of hair loss. This is something my new family should be aware of, and I may benefit from calming support while I settle in. I have been spayed, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. I’m also up to date with my vaccinations, flea, and worm treatments. Once settled I will require access to outside.
