Ares! Usually, Ares (about 6 years old) is safely hidden under a cabinet, but lately, he's been emerging more often when he thinks we're not around. So we were able to take a photo of him peeking out from under the cabinet. At first, he was still very scared of us - almost as much as we were surprised to see him - but now it's becoming more familiar for him. Ares was found on the street. We can't figure out how he got there. But judging by Ares' behavior, he hasn't had much contact with people. Maybe only in his early youth, or maybe just with one person... Ares is very afraid of us and if we get too close, he tries to chase us away. Although... It's not very convincing anymore and it seems he's starting to realize that people aren't so bad. We always bring some treats for him and the love of man goes through the stomach. We're looking for a quiet environment for him, 1 or 2 people, who have experience with cats and want to work with this big boy. People who will help him to stop finding people scary. This requires a lot of patience and it's hard to say how far he'll come. On the other hand, if you manage to build a bond with Ares, it will be a very personal and special one. And that gives a lot of satisfaction. We never see him interacting with the other cats in the space and we're fine with him being the only cat. Daar is Ares! Meestal zit Ares (6 jaar ongeveer) veilig verstopt onder een kast maar tegenwoordig komt hij steeds vaker tevoorschijn als hij denkt dat we niet in de buurt zijn. Zodoende konden we een foto maken van hem terwijl hij onder de kast uit piepte. In het begin schrok hij nog heel erg van ons – bijna net zo hard als wij om hem ineens te zien – maar tegenwoordig wordt het voor hem steeds vertrouwder. Ares is op straat gevonden. Hoe hij daar gekomen is, kunnen we niet achterhalen. Maar aan het gedrag van Ares te zien, zal hij niet veel met mensen in aanraking zijn geweest. Misschien alleen in zijn vroege jeugd, of misschien maar met 1 iemand... Ares is erg bang van ons en als we te dicht in de buurt komen, probeert hij ons weg te jagen. Hoewel... Erg overtuigend is het niet meer en het lijkt er op dat hij begint te beseffen dat mensen zo slecht nog niet zijn. We nemen namelijk altijd wat lekkers voor hem mee en de liefde van de man gaat door de maag. Voor hem zoeken we een rustige omgeving, 1 of 2 mensen, die ervaring hebben met katten en zin hebben om werk van deze grote jongen te maken. Mensen die met hem gaan oefenen om mensen niet meer eng te vinden. Hier is veel geduld voor nodig en hoe ver hij gaat komen, kunnen we moeilijk zeggen. Staat tegenover dat als het u lukt om met Ares een band op te bouwen, dit een hele persoonlijke en bijzondere zal zijn. En dat geeft veel voldoening. Wij zien hem nooit met de andere katten in de ruimte optrekken en vinden het prima om hem als enige kat te plaatsen. Kinderen of een kinderwens zijn voor hem geen optie.
