Aristos è il cane da caccia più classico e amato del paese greco. Ma come cane da lavoro, questo particolare non era molto amato. Anzi, per niente, perché altrimenti come avrebbe fatto a finire legato e magro nel rifugio comunale di Krestena? Non conosciamo la sua storia, ma non ci sorprenderebbe se qualcuno ci dicesse che Aristos non era bravo nel suo lavoro da cane da caccia e quindi abbandonato, lasciato a girovagare nei campi o in un villaggio vicino. Ciò che importa è che Aristos ora è con noi nel rifugio. Ha finalmente iniziato a prendere peso, ne ha ancora bisogno, ma sta sulla strada giusta, e sta iniziando a capire che è al sicuro, che può adesso uscire a passeggio senza paura. Sta anche iniziando a capire che quando una persona si avvicina a lui, può semplicemente voler giocare con lui, portarlo a spasso e trascorrere del tempo di qualità insieme. Aristos è ansioso di uscite, di liberazione, di azione! È un cane che vuole fare tante cose: correre, giocare, stare accanto al lato del suo compagno umano e godersi la natura insieme. Potrebbe essere veramente felice con una routine che garantisce il suo esercizio quotidiano, con attività che coinvolgono sia il suo corpo che la sua mente.

Aristos is the most classic and beloved hunting dog of the Greek countryside. But as a working dog, this particular one wasn’t loved much at all. In fact, not at all, because how else would he have ended up tied up and emaciated at the municipal shelter of Krestena? We don’t know his story, but it wouldn’t surprise us if someone told us that Aristos wasn’t good at his job as a hunting dog, and so he was abandoned, left to wander in the countryside or in a nearby village. What matters is that Aristos is now with us at the shelter. He has finally started to gain weight, he still needs more, but he’s on the right track, and he’s beginning to understand that he is safe, that he can now go for walks without fear. He’s also starting to realize that when a person approaches him, it can simply be to play with him, to take him out for a walk, and to spend quality time together. Aristos is eager for walks, for release, for action! He’s a dog who wants to do so many things: to run, to play, to stand by his human companion’s side and enjoy nature together. He could be truly happy with a routine that ensures his daily exercise, with activities that engage both his body and his mind.
