Aiuta Bailey condividendo questa pagina! Bailey è un bel maschio di 8 anni, un lurcher che cerca un ambiente di accoglienza o una casa permanente. È presso Lurcher Link Rescue a Halifax, West Yorkshire. Bailey è stato riaccolto da Lurcher Link 5 anni fa, ma il suo proprietario non è più riuscito a tenerlo a causa dei propri problemi di salute. Vuole vivere in un'area tranquilla, con poco traffico. Adora rilassarsi! Bailey deve essere riaccolto come unico animale domestico. È pulito in casa e può rimanere solo per un tempo ragionevole. Viaggia bene in auto e può vivere con adolescenti esperti di cani. Bailey conosce alcuni comandi base (seduto, giù, aspetta, guarda, vieni). Prima era bravo con altri cani, ma ha sviluppato una certa reattività. Non riceveva abbastanza esercizio nella sua vecchia casa, il che potrebbe aver contribuito al problema. Ha bisogno di un posto dove non inconterà troppi cani mentre la sua reattività viene gestita. Non va d'accordo neanche con i cavalli. Bailey dovrà essere munito di guinzaglio quando è in luoghi affollati. Al momento viene portato a spasso con un halti per un maggior controllo. A volte Bailey si agita molto; ad esempio non ama andare dal veterinario, principalmente a causa della presenza di altri cani. Per questo motivo deve aspettare in auto per gli appuntamenti e deve essere munito di guinzaglio. Quando Bailey si eccita può cercare di mordere e può indirizzare la sua aggressività verso le persone se è molto stressato. Per questo motivo è necessario il guinzaglio quando esce e in altre situazioni stressanti come dal veterinario. Bailey ha bisogno di una casa esperta che possa comprendere le sue ansie, interpretare il suo linguaggio corporeo e gestire le situazioni in modo che possa godersi una vita tranquilla. Con una routine prevedibile e sicura è abbastanza calmo la maggior parte del tempo. È quasi sempre d'accordo con gli altri cani nei box, a meno che non abbiano abbaiato per primi, nel qual caso risponderà con l'abbaiare, il che mostra che nel tempo ci sono miglioramenti possibili. Ha bisogno semplicemente di tempo, pazienza, abbastanza esercizio per sciogliere qualsiasi tensione e la giusta forma di addestramento positivo (per favore con le ricompense!). Please help Bailey by sharing this page! Bailey is a handsome 8-year-old male lurcher looking for either a foster or permanent home. He's with Lurcher Link Rescue in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Bailey was rehomed by Lurcher Link 5 years ago, but his owner sadly could no longer keep him due to their own health issues. He wants to live in a quiet area, without too much traffic. He does like to relax! Bailey needs to be rehomed as an only pet. He's clean in the home and can be left alone for a reasonable amount of time. He travels well in the car and can live with dog-savvy teenagers. Bailey knows some basic commands (sit, down, wait, look, come). Bailey used to be good with other dogs, but has developed some reactivity. He wasn't getting much exercise in his old home, which may have contributed to the problem. He ideally needs somewhere he isn't going to meet too many dogs, while his reactivity can be worked on. He doesn't hold with horses either. Bailey will need to be muzzled when out in busy places. He's currently walked on a halti for more control. Bailey gets very anxious at times; for example he really doesn't like going to the vets, mainly due to the presence of other dogs. He therefore needs to wait in the car for appointments and must be muzzled. When Bailey gets wound up he can try to bite, and can redirect onto humans if very stressed. Hence the requirement to be muzzled when walked and in other stressful situations such as at the vets. Bailey will need an experienced home who can understand his anxieties, read his body language and manage situations so that he can enjoy a quiet life. With a predictable and safe routine he's fairly chilled most of the time. He is mostly okay with the other dogs in kennels now, unless they bark at him first, in which case he'll bark back, which shows that over time improvements are possible. He just needs time, patience, enough exercise to shake out any tensions and the right sort of positive reinforcement training (treats please!).
