Barney è un incrocio di media taglia, nato nel gennaio 2025. Barney è entrato nella nostra cura alcuni mesi fa dal rifugio pubblico di Botosani in Romania. All'arrivo era chiuso e terrorizzato da noi e abbiamo pensato che avessimo una lunga strada di riabilitazione davanti a noi. Tuttavia, la tentazione del divertimento del branco nella sua casa di accoglienza era troppo forte per resistere e in pochi giorni era correndo, giocando e facendo i propri dispetti come tutti i cuccioli dovrebbero! È stato necessario un po' più di tempo perché si fidasse di noi umani ma ora ci mostra la stessa vivacità e affetto che mostra ai suoi compagni canini. Questo piccolo ragazzo è così buffo e divertente e le sue espressioni facciali sono molto divertenti. Avrà bisogno di almeno un altro cane vivace nella sua casa definitiva. Può vivere con bambini rispettosi di età dodici anni o più e vuole giocare con il gatto. È davvero diventato un grande cane ma probabilmente sarà nervoso con la sua nuova famiglia per pochi giorni dopo aver raggiunto la sua casa definitiva. Un po' di pazienza porterà un grande premio. Barney è stato ospitato da Norwich Norfolk. Se sei interessato, scrivi o chiama tra le 9:00 e le 17:00 da lunedì a venerdì o tra le 9:00 e le 16:00 sabato. Le tariffe di adozione sono valide dal 1° dicembre 2025: cuccioli già sterilizzati e tutti i cani adulti: 430 £. Cuccioli non sterilizzati con contratti di castrazione: 530 £ (riceverai un rimborso di 100 £ una volta che ci invierai la prova della sterilizzazione). Cani anziani (10+ anni): 150-250 £ (in base all'età e alle esigenze individuali). Policy di adozione Quando adotti un cane di Safe Rescue, DEVI utilizzare una guinzaglio a scatto. Questo terrà il tuo cane al sicuro: il tuo nuovo cane sarà nervoso e non ti farà fiducia, e non saprai quali situazioni potrebbero turbare il tuo cane. Se il tuo cane si spaventa, allora il guinzaglio a scatto è l'unica via per impedire al tuo cane di scappare (molti cani possono scappare da collare e/o cingie). Ci vorranno ALMENO 3-6 mesi per far abituare il tuo cane e per conoscere completamente il tuo cane (più a lungo per i cani nervosi). Il guinzaglio a scatto deve SEMPRE essere usato durante questo periodo di adattamento. Anche dopo che il tuo cane si è adattato, è più sicuro usare il guinzaglio a scatto in situazioni in cui il tuo cane potrebbe spaventarsi (ad esempio visitare luoghi nuovi, intorno a persone sconosciute, dal veterinario), e in situazioni in cui potrebbero verificarsi trigger imprevisti (ad esempio intorno alla notte dei fuochi d'artificio). I cani nervosi potrebbero dover indossare sempre un guinzaglio a scatto come misura di sicurezza aggiuntiva. Il guinzaglio a scatto è un dispositivo di sicurezza e mai deve essere utilizzato come strumento di addestramento. Usare il guinzaglio per applicare pressione al collo del cane è dannoso. Se il tuo cane tira sul guinzaglio, possiamo consigliarti metodi di addestramento che evitino danni. Una volta che il tuo cane si è stabilito, potresti voler considerare l'uso di una cingia (insieme al guinzaglio a scatto) se il cane è comodo con la manipolazione quando è fissata. Barney is a medium sized crossbreed, born Jan 2025 Barney came into our care a few months ago from the Botosani public shelter in Romania. On arrival he was shut down and terrified of us and we did think we had a long road of rehabilitation ahead of us. However, the lure of the fun of the pack in his foster home was too strong to resist and within days he was running around, playing and getting into mischief like all pups should! It took him a while longer to trust us humans but he is now showing us the same cheeky fun and affection that he shows his canine pals. This little boy is so comical and fun and his facial expressions are highly entertaining. He will need at least one other playful dog in his forever home. He can live with respectful children aged twelve plus and wants to play with the cat. He really is emerging into such a great dog but will probably be nervous of his new family for just a few days after entering his forever home. A little patience will bring intense reward. Adoption Donation Fees From 1st Dec 2025 are Puppies already neutered and all adult dogs: £430. Un-neutered puppies on spay/neuter contracts: £530 (You will receive a £100 rebate once you send us proof of neutering). Senior dogs (10+ years): £150–£250 (depending on age and individual needs). Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).
