Povero Ben era in lista di soppressione in un rifugio pubblico in Romania quando una signora nel Regno Unito ha offerto di prenderlo. Purtroppo, Ben non era abituato ad essere maneggiato e la signora non era preparata né abbastanza esperta per gestire la sua riabilitazione e quindi Safe Rescue ha preso in carico questo percorso con lui. Ben è ora in cura presso un familiare a Mattishall, Norfolk. Ha circa 8 anni ed è un incrocio di media taglia, sovrappeso. Ben è ora pronto a trasferirsi nel suo nuovo posto fisso dopo diversi mesi. Ha bisogno di una casa con adulti che abbiano un livello ragionevole di esperienza e che abbiano un cane residente. Ben ha ancora l'abitudine fastidiosa di mordere il guinzaglio se non viene osservato attentamente ma, altrimenti, sta diventando un dolce vecchio ragazzo che ha iniziato a chiedere attenzione e coccole in modo casuale. Il suo amore per il cibo lo aiuta a guadagnare fiducia ma, presto, dovrà essere affrontato il suo regime alimentare e di esercizio. Questo sarà secondario rispetto all'amicizia. Ben si intende bene con altri cani e vorrebbe almeno un altro cane nella sua casa definitiva. Non gli interessa per niente il gatto. Avrà bisogno di qualcuno paziente abbastanza da guadagnare la sua fiducia ma, dopo alcune settimane, ha il potenziale di diventare un compagno divertente e amabile. A questo punto, dovrà essere fatto uno sforzo per recuperare la sua linea. Se ti piace un cane con un po' di carattere e apprezzi un po' di testardaggine aggiunta per buona misura, allora Ben è il ragazzo giusto per te. Non ti amerà subito ma apprezzerai la sfida di arrivarci con lui e apprezzerai ancor di più il legame. Poor Ben was on a kill list at a public shelter in Romania when a lady in the UK offered to take him. Unfortunately, Ben was not used to being handled and the lady was not prepared or experienced enough to cope with his rehabilitation and so Safe Rescue took up that journey with him. Ben is now in foster care in Mattishall, Norfolk. He is around 8 years old and is a medium-size, overweight Crossbreed. Ben is now ready to move on to his forever home after several months. He needs an adult home with someone with a reasonable level of experience and with a resident dog(s). Ben still has the annoying habit of chewing through his lead if not watched carefully but, other than that, he’s actually emerging into a sweet old boy who has even begun to casually ask for fuss and attention. His love for food helps to win his trust and confidence but, at some time soon, his diet and exercise regime is going to have to be addressed. This will be secondary to becoming friends. Ben mixes well with other dogs and would like at least one other dog in his forever home. He really can’t be bothered with the cat. He will need someone patient enough to win his trust but, after a few weeks, he has the potential to be a comical and loving companion. At this point, effort will need to be made to retrieve the waistline he once had. If you like a dog with a bit of quirk and character and appreciate a little stubbornness chucked into the mix for good measure, then Ben is the boy for you. He won’t love you overnight but you’ll enjoy the challenge of getting to that point with him and treasure the bond even more.
