His story: Cosmo is a great male dog with a lot of potential! Who will give him his happiness? Currently, he lives in the overcrowded Shelter in Baia Mare since he came with the dog catchers. But at least he is safe here from the dangers of life on the streets, gets food and shelter, and now has the great chance to find a real home with dog-loving people. We are sure that Cosmo hasn't experienced much good yet, otherwise he wouldn't be so shy around people. But Cosmo is learning and is slowly becoming more open to people. That's why we are so hopeful for a new chance for him. We want to try everything to secure a spot on the sunny side of life for him and hope to be able to place him with dog-experienced people as soon as possible. We estimate Cosmo to be around 13 years old. Although he is no longer a puppy, he still has a lot of love to give. With a shoulder height of about 60 to 65 cm, Cosmo counts as a large dog. He has a dense, cuddly, light coat and looks at the camera skeptically with black eyes. Over the course of his life, he has lost many teeth, but he currently manages well. Cosmo likes other dogs, but the stress in the shelter is taking a toll on him. He lets himself be touched cautiously and we were also able to take him out of the kennel – but he is still very shy. But who can blame him – surely the impressive male dog hasn't had many positive encounters with people in his life. Especially after he came with the dog catchers, no one can blame him. Probably he had never had a real home and knew no loving, stroking hand. Cosmo hasn't heard the rules of life as a house dog either. But we are sure that he is ready to seize every opportunity and will build trust and open up to new things at his own pace with much affection, patience, and loving but consistent training. After the first adjustment period, Cosmo will benefit from attending a positively working dog training class, as regular training will stabilize him and strengthen the bond to his new people. We wish for Cosmo dog-experienced adopters who want to spend a lot of time with him and are willing to work with him sensitively, patiently, and consistently. They should ideally live in the countryside and be able to offer him an enclosed yard that is accessible to Cosmo, as we suspect he may have herding gene and are searching for a suitable home. His adopters should already be familiar with typical character traits. An experienced foster home would also be a great springboard for Cosmo into a new, better dog life. He can immediately travel to his new home with an EU pet passport after being microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Cosmo will be placed after a positive assessment. Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Cosmo ist leider nicht mehr fit genug für eine Reise…daher bleibt er in Rumänien. Seine Geschichte: Cosmo ist ein toller Rüde mit ganz viel Potential! Wer schenkt ihm sein Glück? Aktuell lebt er im überfüllten Shelter in Baia Mare seitdem er mit den Hundefängern kam. Aber zumindest ist er hier in Sicherheit vor den Gefahren eines Lebens auf der Straße, bekommt Futter und einen Unterschlupf und hat jetzt die große Chance, ein richtiges Zuhause bei tierlieben Menschen zu finden. Wir sind uns sicher, dass Cosmo noch nicht viel Gutes erlebt hat, sonst wäre er nicht so schüchtern uns Menschen gegenüber. Aber Cosmo lernt dazu und wird den Menschen gegenüber langsam offener. Deshalb hoffen wir so sehr auf eine neue Chance für ihn. Wir wollen alles versuchen, um ihm einen Patz auf der Sonnenseite des Lebens zu sichern und hoffen, dass wir ihn möglichst schnell an hundeerfahrene Menschen vermitteln können. Wir schätzen Cosmo auf ca. 13 Jahre. Damit ist er zwar kein Jungspunt mehr, hat aber noch ganz viel Liebe zu geben. Mit ca. 60 bis 65 cm Schulterhöhe zählt Cosmo zu den großen Hunden. Er hat dichtes, kuscheliges, helles Fell und schaut aus schwarzen Augen skeptisch in die Kamera. Viele Zähne hat er im Laufe seines Lebens verloren, kommt aber aktuell gut damit zurecht. Cosmo mag andere Hunde, aber der Stress im Shelter setzt ihm stark zu. Er lässt sich vorsichtig anfassen und wir konnten ihn auch aus dem Zwinger nehmen – aber schüchtern ist er noch immer. Aber wer will ihm das verdenken – sicherlich hat der eindrucksvolle Rüde in seinem Leben noch nicht viele positive Begegnungen mit den Menschen gehabt. Besonders nachdem er mit den Hundefängern kam, kann ihm das keiner verübeln. Wahrscheinlich hatte er noch nie ein richtiges Zuhause und kennt keine liebevolle, streichelnde Hand. Von den Regeln für ein Leben als Haushund hat Cosmo sicherlich auch noch nichts gehört. Aber wir sind uns sicher, dass er bereit ist, jede Chance zu nutzen und durch viel Zuwendung, Geduld und liebevoller, aber konsequenter Erziehung Vertrauen aufbauen und sich ganz in seinem Tempo für alles Neue öffnen wird. Nach der ersten Eingewöhnungszeit wird Cosmo der Besuch einer positiv arbeitenden Hundeschule sicherlich guttun, denn regelmäßiges Training wird ihn stabilisieren und die Bindung an seine neuen Menschen festigen. Wir wünschen uns für Cosmo hundeerfahrene Adoptanten, die viel Zeit mit ihm verbringen möchten und sich zutrauen, einfühlsam, geduldig und konsequent mit ihm zu arbeiten. Sie sollten möglichst ländlich und ruhig leben und ihm im Idealfall ein eingezäuntes Grundstück bieten können, das für Cosmo frei zugänglich ist, da wir gegebenenfalls Herdenschutzgene vermuten und ein entsprechendes Zuhause suchen. Seine Adoptanten sollten sich mit typischen Charaktereigenschaften bereits auseinandergesetzt haben. Auch eine erfahrene Pflegestelle wäre für Cosmo ein tolles Sprungbrett in ein neues, besseres Hundeleben. Möchtest du Cosmo die Welt noch einmal ganz neu erklären? Dann melde dich bei uns.
