Adottare Daisy

Daisy è stata adottata a giugno 2025. Abbiamo assicurato che i suoi potenziali adottanti fossero consapevoli che era leggermente nervosa e abbaiava quando era ansiosa per nuove persone, nuovi cani o nuove situazioni quando la incontravano per la prima volta in aprile. Avevano esperienza di questo tipo di comportamento e non si sono lasciati scoraggiare. Sono venuti a incontrare Daisy diverse volte e l'hanno portata a fare passeggiate, portandola infine per una visita di un giorno a casa loro. Daisy ama il cibo e è stato molto facile premiarla per il buon comportamento con dolcetti e lodi. I suoi nuovi proprietari ci dicono che... "dopo alcune settimane l'abbiamo introdotta lentamente ad altri membri della famiglia e amici e ai loro cani e, alcuni mesi dopo l'adozione, Daisy fa parte della famiglia e siamo tornati alla nostra normale vita familiare. Daisy ci accompagna quando facciamo la spesa, al centro giardinaggio, a mangiare fuori e alle riunioni di famiglia. Daisy a volte abbaia ancora quando è spaventata da persone sconosciute e da cani sconosciuti, ma questo si è notevolmente ridotto. Accade solo quando i cani le abbaiano o quando gli sconosciuti si avvicinano troppo a lei. Si siederà o si sdraierà tranquillamente nei caffè e nei pub mentre prendiamo un caffè o un pasto. Questo è incredibile e siamo molto soddisfatti dei suoi progressi. Fortunatamente per il bene della linea di Daisy siamo stati in grado di ridurre il numero di dolcetti e la sua principale ricompensa per il buon comportamento è ora la lode. Daisy può essere lasciata da sola per brevi periodi. Se dobbiamo lasciarla per più tempo o per le vacanze, abbiamo una seconda casa per lei con parenti stretti e la sua nuova migliore amica Poppy (anche un cane di Waggy Tails). Siamo così fortunati ad avere un cane così amichevole e affettuoso nella nostra famiglia".

Daisy was adopted in June 2025. We made sure that her potential adopters were aware that she was slightly nervous and would bark when she was anxious about new people, new dogs or new situations when they first met her in April. They had experience of this sort of behaviour and were not put off. They came to meet Daisy several times and took her for walks, eventually taking her for a day visit with them in their home. Daisy loves her food and it was very easy to reward for good behaviour with treats as well as praise. Her new owners tell us that … “after a few weeks we slowly introduced her to other members of the family and friends and their dogs and, a few months after adoption, Daisy is part of the family and we are back to our normal family life. Daisy joins us when we go shopping, to the garden centre, out for meals and family gatherings. Daisy still sometimes barks when startled by strange people and strange dogs but this has greatly reduced. It is only when dogs bark at her or when strangers become too close to her too quickly. She will sit or lie down quietly in cafes and pubs while we have a coffee or a meal. This is amazing and we are very pleased with her progress. Luckily for the sake of Daisy’s waistline we have been able to reduce the number of treats and her main reward now for good behaviour is praise. Daisy can be left for short periods of time on her own. If we need to leave her for longer or for holidays, we have a second home for her with close family and her new best friend Poppy (also a Waggy Tails dog). We are so lucky to have such a friendly, loving dog in our family”.
