Warning: All animals will only be rehomed in species-appropriate husbandry. This means that Elton (gray, 2nd from the left) has only been with us for a short time, yet we know him well since he was here before and was able to move into a wonderful home. Unfortunately, his last partner has passed away, and the owners, with heavy hearts, decided to stop husbandry. Elton was born in 2022 and has only known outdoor living. He lived with a partner until now but has developed into a real harem leader among us. He loves his girls, who also adore him, and keeps a close eye on the rabbits in the adjacent enclosure to ensure no one gets any wrong ideas. Although he is a ram, Elton is very alert, active, and character-strong. We do not exclude other males as fellow animals, as this is simply a character issue, and Elton openly communicates whether he likes the other animal or not. Elton is curious, interested, and friendly towards humans. Of course, Elton has been neutered. Elton is a beautiful rabbit but a ram. They are bred because they are cute and sell well, but they belong to so-called suffering breeds. With appropriate husbandry (and Elton has the best prerequisites), these animals can also live to a very old age.

Hinweis: Alle werden nur in artgerechte Haltung vermittelt. Das bedeutet bei Kaninchen Elton (grau, 2ter v. l.) ist noch nicht lange bei uns und dennoch kennen wir ihn schon seit 2 Jahren, denn er war schon mal bei uns und durfte in ein wundervolles Zuhause ziehen. Leider ist seine letzte Partnerin inzwischen verstorben und die Halter haben sich schweren Herzens dazu entschieden, mit der Haltung aufzuhören. Elton wurde 2022 geboren und kennt nur die Außenhaltung. Er lebte bisher nur mit einer Partnerin, hat sich bei uns aber zu einem echten Haremsführer entwickelt. Er liebt seine Mädels, wird von diesen auch sehr angehimmelt und hat die Kaninchen im Nachbargehege immer gut im Blick, damit da auch niemand auf falsche Gedanken kommt. Obwohl er ein Widder ist, ist Elton sehr wachsam und aktiv und charakterstark. Dennoch schließen wir Jungs als Artgenossen nicht aus, da das einfach Charaktersache ist und Elton ganz offen kommuniziert, ob er das Gegenüber gut findet oder nicht. Menschen gegenüber ist Elton neugierig, interessiert und kontaktfreudig. Natürlich ist Elton kastriert. Elton ist ein wunderschönes Kaninchen aber ein Widder. Sie werden gezüchtet, weil sie süß und gut verkäuflich sind aber gehören zu den sog. Qualzuchten. Bei einer entsprechenden Haltung (und Elton hat die besten Voraussetzungen) können aber auch diese Tiere ein sehr hohes Alter erreichen.
