Her story: The pretty, little Fauna retreats into her hut shy and insecure when we visit the shelter in April. But we have the feeling that she wants to make contact and simply doesn’t have the “energy” for the shelter. Her gaze is curious, and she takes treats out of our hands. With a little time, Fauna will surely thaw out and gain trust. But the noise, the cramped space, and the loneliness take a toll on her. Fauna hasn’t had an easy life so far. She lived on the street with other dogs until she was finally caught by the dog catchers. Now she sits in the public shelter in Bistrita and tries to adapt to the new circumstances. But trusting people still comes hard to her – she is cautious and prefers to stay in the background. Fauna gets along well with other dogs. She likes to orient herself by her fellow animals, which is why an independent only-dog home could help her make the transition to a new life. Fauna is estimated to be around 3 years old and has a rather small, medium build with a shoulder height of about 50 cm. For Fauna, we are looking for people with patience, empathy, and a lot of understanding for her situation. A quiet, more rural home, where she can take her time to settle in, would be ideal for the little Fauna, without too many changes. Fauna travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. Ihre Geschichte: Die hübsche, kleine Fauna zieht sich verschüchtert und unsicher in ihre Hütte zurück, als wir sie im April im Shelter besuchen. Aber wir haben das Gefühl, dass sie durchaus Kontakt haben möchte und einfach keine „Lust“ auf das Shelter hat. Ihr Blick ist neugierig und sie nimmt Leckerlies aus der Hand. Mit ein wenig Zeit, wird Fauna sicher schnell auftauen und Vertrauen fassen. Aber der Lärm, die Enge und die Einsamkeit setzen ihr sehr zu. Fauna hat bisher kein einfaches Leben gehabt. Sie lebte gemeinsam mit anderen Hunden auf der Straße, bis sie schließlich von den Hundefängern eingefangen wurde. Nun sitzt sie im öffentlichen Shelter von Bistrita und versucht, sich an die neuen Umstände zu gewöhnen. Doch das Vertrauen in Menschen fällt ihr noch schwer – sie ist vorsichtig und hält sich lieber im Hintergrund. Mit anderen Hunden versteht Fauna sich gut. Sie orientiert sich gerne an ihren Artgenossen, weshalb ein souveräner Ersthund ihr den Einstieg in ein neues Leben sicher erleichtern könnte. Fauna wird auf etwa 3 Jahre geschätzt und hat mit ca. 50 cm Schulterhöhe eine eher kleine, mittlere Größe. Für Fauna suchen wir Menschen mit Geduld, Einfühlungsvermögen und viel Verständnis für ihre Situation. Ein ruhiges, eher ländliches Zuhause, in dem sie in ihrem eigenen Tempo ankommen darf, wäre optimal für die kleine Fauna., ohne vielen wechselnde Bezugspersonen. Fauna reist kastriert, gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht. Sie besitzt einen EU-Heimtierausweis und kann nach positiver Vorkontrolle und gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 500 Euro in ihr neues Zuhause ziehen. Auch über eine Pflegestelle würde sie sich sehr freuen.
