I nostri famiglie di accoglienza fanno una grande differenza per i cani di Hope Rescue. I responsabili di accoglienza dovrebbero avere conoscenze o esperienze con i cani. Ogni famiglia di accoglienza sarà attentamente abbinata a ogni cane in accoglienza considerando la vostra precedente esperienza e eventuali preferenze o requisiti indicati nel modulo di domanda. Supporto completo è fornito dal Team di accoglienza, incluso l'accesso a consigli comportamentali e un comportamentista qualificato presso il nostro rifugio. Tutte le spese associate alla cura del vostro cane in accoglienza come le spese veterinarie sono coperte da Hope Rescue, anche se alcune famiglie di accoglienza scelgono di fornire cibo. Abbiamo conti aperti con i nostri veterinari quindi non dovrete pagare costi in anticipo. Possiamo fornire collari, guinzagli, giocattoli, letti e gabbie se necessario, tutti i quali possono essere ritirati dal nostro rifugio. Non c'è un periodo definito per il tempo che il cane trascorre in casa. I cani in accoglienza sono solitamente molto giovani, anziani, in recupero dopo un intervento chirurgico o quelli che non si adattano bene al recinto. Aiuterete a scoprire come si comportano intorno ad altri cani e forse ai gatti, così come con i bambini, e questo vi aiuterà a trovare la giusta casa per loro. Le nostre famiglie di accoglienza si trovano tutte nell'area del Sud Galles per garantire che possiamo fornire formazione e supporto in modo efficace ed efficiente. I responsabili di accoglienza dovranno disporre dei propri mezzi di trasporto e dovranno trovarsi entro un'ora di distanza dal nostro rifugio. La maggior parte delle nostre famiglie di accoglienza ha altri animali domestici. Dovrete informarci nel modulo di domanda per l'accoglienza sui vostri animali domestici e sui loro gusti e avversioni. Queste informazioni ci aiuteranno a decidere quale cane in accoglienza sia giusto per voi. Tuttavia va notato che tutti i cani presenti devono essere castrati, a meno che non siano state fornite motivazioni mediche o comportamentali. Non abbiamo restrizioni riguardo all'età delle persone per l'accoglienza - ogni cane sarà abbinato alla famiglia di accoglienza. Pur facendo ogni possibile attenzione per valutare i nostri cani per la famiglia di accoglienza più adatta, va notato che non possiamo garantire esattamente come il cane in accoglienza si comporterà nella vostra casa. Inevitabilmente ci saranno momenti in cui il cane in accoglienza svilupperà problemi che non eravamo a conoscenza o che esulano dalla vostra esperienza. Questi potrebbero includere problemi di addestramento, comportamentali o medici. Il Team di accoglienza fornisce completo supporto incluso accesso a consigli comportamentali qualificati presso il nostro rifugio. Ci saranno occasioni in cui il cane in accoglienza non andrà bene e organizzeremo il ritorno del cane al nostro rifugio il più rapidamente possibile. Preferiamo che le nostre famiglie di accoglienza siano esclusive per Hope Rescue. Questo ci permette di costruire buone relazioni e di stabilire le capacità e le preferenze di ogni famiglia di accoglienza. Questo aiuta anche a garantire che ogni famiglia di accoglienza venga abbinata al giusto cane. Our foster homes make an incredible difference to the dogs at Hope Rescue. Not only do they provide a loving temporary home for the dog, but fostering a dog also helps to create much needed capacity in our rescue centre for the next dog in need. Foster carers should have some dog knowledge or experience. Each foster home will be carefully matched with each foster dog taking into account your previous experience and any preferences or requirements you have detailed in your application form. Full support is provided by the Foster Team including access to behavioural advice and a qualified behaviourist at our rescue centre. All expenses associated with the care of your foster dog such as vet fees are covered by Hope Rescue, although some foster homes choose to provide food. We have accounts set up with our vets so you do not need to pay any costs upfront. We can also provide collars, leads, toys, bedding and a crate if needed, all of which can be collected from our rescue centre. There is no set time frame for the dog to be in the home. Foster dogs are usually very young, old, recovering from surgery or those that do not cope well with being in kennels. You will help us to find out what they are like around other dogs and possibly cats, as well as with children, and this will help us to get the right home for them. If you're interested in fostering, but would like something more short-term, you might be a good fit for our Sleepover Club! Sleepover club is a special new scheme for adult-only homes with no other pets, located within an hour’s drive of our centre in Llanharan, South Wales. This initiative offers a change of scenery to our longer term residents or dogs who’d benefit from a short break from kennels. It’s a wonderful opportunity to give a dog some extra love and a cosy place to rest, all while helping them get ready for their forever home. If you’d like to be part of our Sleepover Club, please complete a fostering application and note that you’re interested in the Sleepover Club. Our foster homes are all in the South Wales area to ensure that we can provide training and support as effectively and as efficiently as possible. Foster carers will need their own transport and should be within one hour's travelling time of our rescue centre. The majority of our foster homes have other pets. You will need to tell us on the foster application form about your pets and their likes and dislikes. This information will help us to decide which foster dog is right for you. It should be noted however, that all resident dogs must be neutered unless advised on medical or behavioural grounds. We have no restrictions surrounding people’s ages for fostering - each dog will be matched to the foster home Whilst every care is taken to assess our dogs for the most suitable foster home it should be noted that we cannot guarantee exactly how the foster dog will behave in your home. Inevitably there will be times when the foster dog develops issues we were not aware of, or that are outside your experience. These could include training, behavioural or medical issues. Our Foster Team provides full support including access to qualified behavioural advice at our rescue centre. There will be occasions when the foster dog does not work out and we will arrange for the dog be returned to our rescue centre as soon as practically possible. We prefer our foster homes to stay exclusive to Hope Rescue. This enables us to build up a good relationship and to establish each foster home's capabilities and preferences. This also helps to ensure that we match each foster home with the right foster dog. If you are interested in fostering for Hope Rescue you will need to complete our application form below. A member of our fostering team will contact you for an initial chat to discuss fostering in more detail. If both parties are happy, a home check will be organised and if successful, you will be sent a Foster Carer Information pack and will be asked to sign our Foster Agreement. Your work underpins every aspect of their welfare, helping to prevent illness, reduce stress, support rest, and create the conditions dogs need to feel more secure during their time with us. In this role, you’ll contribute in a way that suits you - whether that’s through conversations with the public, supporting events, or helping things run smoothly behind the scenes.
