Se sei una persona che ama un cane che fa amicizia ovunque vada, Hartley scioglierà il tuo cuore ogni giorno. È estremamente amichevole con gli altri cani, si avvicina per ricevere attenzioni come il gigantesco orsacchiotto che è e tratta ogni nuova persona come un vecchio amico. È estremamente curioso, ama esplorare nuovi ambienti ed è nel suo elemento perfetto quando utilizza il suo incredibile naso da cacciatore durante attività di tracciamento o giochi olfattivi. I viaggi in auto sono una passeggiata con Hartley: salta direttamente nel bagagliaio senza pensarci due volte. Ti servirà semplicemente uno spazio sufficientemente grande nel bagagliaio per ospitare la sua imponente struttura e tenerlo al sicuro, specialmente perché può essere un po' buffo e vivace con la sua coda felice durante i viaggi. Se cerchi un allegro, affettuoso, leggermente sovradimensionato clown che illuminerà i tuoi giorni, ti terrà sorridente e sarà un fedele compagno sia per te che per il tuo cane residente, Hartley potrebbe essere proprio la persona che stai cercando. Se sei alla ricerca di un compagno di avventura dal cuore grande che porta gioia (e parecchia risate) ovunque vada, Hartley potrebbe essere esattamente il ragazzo giusto per te. A tre anni e mezzo, questo Foxhound è una splendida combinazione di charme buffo, curiosità infinita e entusiasmo tipico dei cani da caccia. È un Grande Gigante Amichevole che non si rende conto di quanto sia grande, quindi cerca una famiglia con bambini che frequentano la scuola secondaria, che siano sicuri con un cane che balza di eccitazione. Hartley è più felice quando la vita ha un ritmo dolce. Si sviluppa bene in aree per passeggiate tranquille, dove può seguire il suo naso senza sentirsi sopraffatto. È un ragazzo forte al guinzaglio, quindi cerca qualcuno che possa godersi il lavoro con lui in modo positivo mantenendo le cose stabili e sicure. Non ama essere lasciato, quindi ogni separazione dovrà essere introdotta molto gradualmente. Potrebbe anche brillare in un'adeguata struttura all'aperto con un altro cane, che potrebbe essere un bel passo verso un futuro in casa. E parlando di altri cani – Hartley li adora moltissimo. Deve vivere con un altro cane, poiché trae enorme comfort e fiducia dalla compagnia canina.

If you are after a big-hearted adventure buddy who brings joy (and a fair bit of laughter) everywhere he goes, Hartley might be just your lad. At three and a half years old, this Foxhound is a gorgeous blend of goofy charm, boundless curiosity and classic hound enthusiasm. He is a Big Friendly Giant who does not quite realise how large he is, so is looking for a family with secondary school aged children, who are confident around a dog who bounces with excitement. He is currently enjoying learning some great life skills, such as loose lead walking! Whilst we have been working with Hartley in indoor spaces here at the centre, we suspect Hartley has previously lived outdoors so would be looking for a home that can help continue Hartley’s gradual transition into indoor living. He lives in a group living setting at the centre, with access to outdoor areas and he does spend most of his time outdoors. If you have a suitable outdoor establishment with another dog, this would be a lovely stepping stone into a home. Hartley would have on-going support from our welfare team to ensure he is getting the contact with people he very much loves whilst living in a slightly different environment. Hartley is very much the perfect companion dog. If you are someone who enjoys a dog who makes friends everywhere he goes, Hartley will make your heart melt daily. He is wonderfully friendly with other dogs, leans in for fuss like the oversized teddy bear he is and treats every new person like a long-lost pal. He is endlessly curious, loves exploring new environments and is in his absolute element when he is using that incredible hound nose during tracking or scent games. Car journeys are a breeze with Hartley—he jumps straight into the boot without a second thought. You will just need a good-sized boot space to fit his impressive frame and keep him safely contained, especially as he can be a bit silly and animated with his happy tail while travelling.
