His story: Jan, the delicate, particularly adorable fluffball, had the good fortune to travel to a wonderful foster home in the Mossautal with his half-brother Joshi. There, the little man is learning more about life with us humans every day, and he's doing a great job! He's almost house-trained, responds to his name, likes the cats and the other foster dogs, can drive a car, and tries to walk nicely on the leash as much as he can... despite his handicap: he has coordination issues. At first glance, he looks like a particularly clumsy puppy, but that's not all. The cause of the coordination issues is currently being investigated with thorough diagnostics, and we now know the reason: a small defect of the spinal cord is responsible. This defect is NOT progressive, and with physiotherapy, Jan will be able to walk like a completely healthy dog. It is now certain that the sweet fluffball can learn to run and jump normally and lead a long worry-free life. Jan is a cheerful nature and will bewitch his humans daily, it's an honor! The little man was dropped off by our animal rescuer Roxana, along with Joshi and another puppy. Roxana brought the three to the Fantanele shelter, where they grew up until their travel arrangements. Jan is currently about 45 cm tall and weighs 12 kg. He is expected to grow to a medium size when fully grown. It's hard to say what genes and the traits they come with are involved. We can't rule out herding or guardian dog genes. Jan is looking for people who won't have too many expectations of him and will continue to show him how a normal dog life works. A little mishap shouldn't be held against him, and Jan should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. In the first year of life, puppies should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more demanding pubertal phase is approaching. The hormone chaos will turn the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" much of what they've learned and their ears are on high alert. Therefore, it is especially important to consistently—but lovingly—train them during this phase. And there is also good news: this phase will pass! For the special Jan, we are looking for special heart people who want to go through a special life with the sweet guy! Jan has packed his luggage and is eagerly waiting for an application. He travels microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated, together with his EU pet passport. Seine Geschichte: Jan, der zarte, besonders liebenswerte Wuschelkopf, hatte das Glück und durfte zusammen mit seinem Halbbruder Joshi in eine ganz tolle Pflegestelle im Mossautal ausreisen. Dort lernt der kleine Mann nun von Tag zu Tag mehr über das Leben gemeinsam mit uns Menschen. Und das macht er wirklich prima! Er ist schon fast stubenrein, hört auf seinen Namen, mag die Katzen und die anderen Pflegehunde, kann Auto fahren und versucht vorbildlich an der Leine zu gehen … so weit er es kann. Denn Jan hat ein Handicap: er hat Koordinationsprobleme. Auf den ersten Blick sieht er wie ein besonders tollpatschiger Welpe, doch das ist leider nicht alles. Die Ursache der Koordinationsprobleme wurde gerade mit aufwändiger Diagnostik untersucht und ist uns nun bekannt: ein kleiner Defekt des Rückenmarks ist für die Koordinationsprobleme verantwortlich. Dieser Defekt ist NICHT fortschreitend und mit physiotherapeutischen Übungen wird Jan laufen können wie ein völlig gesunder Hund. Es ist jetzt sicher, dass der süße Wuschelkopf lernen kann ganz normal zu rennen und zu springen und ein langes sorgenfreies Leben führen kann. Jan ist eine Frohnatur und wird seine Menschen täglich verzaubern, das ist Ehrensache! Der kleine Mann wurde von unserer Tierschützerin Roxana ausgesetzt, zusammen mit Joshi und einem anderen Welpen, gefunden. Roxana brachte die drei in das Shelter von Fantanele, in dem sie bis zu ihrer Ausreise aufwuchsen. Jan hat zurzeit eine Größe von ca. 45 cm und wiegt 12 kg. Ausgewachsen wird er vermutlich einmal mittelgroß bleiben. Welche Gene und damit verbundene Eigenschaften damit verbunden sind ist schwer zu sagen. Wir können Hüte- oder auch Herdenschutzhundgene nicht ausschließen. Jan sucht Menschen, die erstmal nichts von ihm erwarten und ihm weiterhin zeigen, wie ein normales Hundeleben funktioniert. Das ein oder andere Malheur sollte man ihm nicht übelnehmen und Jan stets mit einem positiv verstärkenden Erziehungsstil begleiten. Im ersten Lebensjahr sollten Welpen so wenig wie möglich alleine sein. Außerdem steht die eher anstrengende Pubertätszeit bevor. Das Hormonchaos stellt das Leben der kleinen Racker auf den Kopf. Sie „vergessen” oft alles, was sie bisher gelernt haben und die Ohren schalten auf Durchzug. Daher ist es in dieser Phase besonders wichtig, konsequent – aber liebevoll – zu erziehen. Und es gibt auch eine gute Nachricht: Auch diese Phase geht vorüber! Für den besonderen Jan suchen wir besondere Herzensmenschen, die mit dem süßen Kerl durch ein besonderes Leben gehen wollen! Jan hat sein Köfferchen schon gepackt und wartet sehnsüchtig auf eine Anfrage. Er reist gechipt, geimpft, entwurmt und entfloht, zusammen mit seinem EU-Heimtierausweis. Nach positiver Vorkontrolle kann Jan, gegen eine Schutzgebühr von 500 Euro, vermittelt werden. Aber auch über eine Pflegestelle würde er sich freuen. Danke Corinna R.!
