La stagione dei gattini è arrivata e il nostro gattile è pieno di piccole zampe! I nostri cuori (e i letti per gatti) sono pieni! Tutto è iniziato con una cucciolata di 5 trovata in un cespuglio da uno dei nostri volontari, poi un altro piccolo è stato trovato da solo su un rondò, poi è arrivata un'altra cucciolata di 6, poi un'altra cucciolata di 4! E all'improvviso il nostro gattile è pieno e ora abbiamo 16 gattini in cerca di una casa per sempre. Questi piccoli sono amichevoli, giocosi, abituati ai bambini e ad altri gatti, e pronti a diventare parte di una famiglia. Purtroppo, la loro storia non è insolita per Tenerife. In realtà, questo è il problema. Ogni soccorso a cui parliamo è sopraffatto dai gattini, e trovare case è diventato più difficile che mai. E nel frattempo, mentre aspettano le loro nuove case, ogni gattino ha bisogno di cibo, vaccinazioni, trattamenti antiparassitari, cure veterinarie e infine sterilizzazione. Tutto si somma rapidamente quando ne abbiamo 16! Kitten season is here and our cattery is full of tiny paws! Our hearts (and cat beds) are full! It all started with a litter of 5 found in a bush by one of our volunteers, then another little boy was found on his own on a roundabout, then another litter of 6 arrived, then another litter of 4! And suddenly our cattery is full and we now have 16 kittens looking for their forever homes. These little ones are friendly, playful, used to children and other cats, and ready to become part of a family. Sadly, their story isn’t unusual for Tenerife. In fact, that’s the problem. Every rescue we speak to is overwhelmed with kittens, and finding homes has become harder than ever. And in the meantime, while they wait for their new homes, each kitten needs food, vaccinations, parasite treatments, veterinary care and eventually sterilisation. It all adds up quickly when we have 16 little ones!
