Conosci Nala, il nostro ultimo cavallo soccorso - una donna molto dolce che ha 24 anni. Quando il suo precedente proprietario ha affrontato un'emergenza medica e è stato ricoverato in ospedale, Nala, insieme a un altro cavallo, è rimasta sola in un campo per due settimane senza cibo. Poi un ragazzo adolescente l'ha trovata e l'ha portata a casa. Ha rapidamente capito le difficoltà di prendersi cura di lei correttamente, quindi è andato a cercare aiuto dal nostro santuario e noi abbiamo aperto volentieri le porte per accoglierla. Il suo arrivo è stato perfetto, poiché purtroppo abbiamo recentemente perso due dei nostri amati equini, ma ciò significava che avevamo spazio per soccorrere Nala. Come mostrano le foto, è visibilmente magra e ha una grave gobba. Inoltre, aveva ferite sulla testa causate da una briglia troppo stretta e ferite sul sedere. Ha anche un'infezione fungina della pelle. Stiamo lavorando strettamente con il veterinario per monitorare la sua salute e tenere sotto controllo il trattamento. Dobbiamo introdurre gradualmente i suoi pasti, perché non vogliamo sovraccaricarla. Sta godendo dello spazio e dell'amore nel nostro recinto con altri due equini al momento. Nonostante i segni visibili di abbandono, Nala è già la capofila del branco, dominante rispetto agli altri equini. Con le persone è estremamente dolce e mite. Meet Nala, our latest rescue horse – a super sweet lady at 24 years old. When her previous owner faced a medical emergency and was taken into the hospital, Nala, along with another horse, was left alone in a field for two weeks without food. Then, a teenage boy came along who took Nala home. He quickly realised the challenges of looking after her properly, so he came looking for help from our sanctuary, and we gladly opened our doors to take her in. Her timing was perfect, as we unfortunately recently lost two of our beloved equines, but this meant we had space to rescue Nala. As the pictures show, she is visibly emaciated and has a terrible swayback. She also came in with wounds on her head from a too tight fitting head collar and wounds on her bum. Additionally, she has a fungal skin infection. We are working together tightly with the vet to monitor her health and keep on top of treatment. We have to slowly integrate her meals, as we don’t want to overload her. She is enjoying the space and love in our paddock with two other equines right now. Despite her visible signs of neglect, Nala is already the top of the herd, being dominant to other equines. With people she is incredibly sweet and gentle.
