Ama uscire e esplorare, stare con le persone e rilassarsi in un ambiente confortevole. Opie gode delle sue passeggiate quotidiane e ama prendersi il suo tempo per annusare e indagare i dintorni. Ha anche momenti di gioco in cui ama correre nel nostro giardino. Si adatterà bene a proprietari che lo lasceranno godere di avventure tranquille seguite da molto tempo per rilassarsi. È diventato un cane affettuoso che ama stare con le sue persone preferite, ma preferisce le interazioni a modo suo. Spesso sceglie di sedersi accanto alle persone quando è pronto per un po' di attenzione, piuttosto che cercare interazione. Opie è stato addestrato a fare i bisogni sia nella sua precedente casa che durante il suo tempo presso Battersea Old Windsor. Gli piace una varietà di cibo e accetta sempre volentieri un gustoso premio. Opie is a mature, vocal Pomeranian cross with plenty of character who is looking for a calm home where he can enjoy life at his own pace. He loves getting out and about to explore, spending time with his people, and relaxing in a comfortable environment. Opie enjoys his daily walks and loves taking his time to sniff and investigate his surroundings. He also has playful moments where he enjoys having a run around our garden areas. He will suit owners who are happy to let him enjoy gentle adventures followed by plenty of time to relax. He has grown into an affectionate boy who enjoys spending time with his favourite people but prefers interactions to be on his own terms. He will often choose to sit beside people when he is ready for a fuss, rather than seeking interaction. Learning Opie’s body language will be essential for his new family so they can recognise when he would prefer space. Opie is a vocal boy when he socialises with other dogs. He has a history of barking and pulling towards other dogs, but would be friendly when greeting. After some investigation whilst in our care, we believe that most of the time, these behaviours are over-playfulness and excitement as Opie has quite a vocal and teethy playstyle. At this time, Opie should remain on lead when out walking and new owners should be prepared and committed to continue his training. Opie settled well in his previous home but would bark when people passed by the house, so he would benefit from living in a home away from a busy road where there are fewer opportunities to react. A secure private garden that does not back onto a high traffic area would also help him enjoy quiet time outdoors. Opie has been housetrained both in his previous home and during his time at Battersea Old Windsor. He enjoys a variety of food and is always pleased to accept a tasty treat. His new owners will need to be mindful that he is currently working towards losing weight, so treats should be given in moderation. Any potential new owners will need to speak to a Battersea vet prior to rehoming. For owners who appreciate the company of a fun, independent companion and are happy to respect his boundaries, Opie will make a great pet dog.
