Primrose è una piccola ragazza molto spaventata che ci è arrivata da un allevatore per iniziare la sua nuova vita. Quando è arrivata, era completamente chiusa e aveva troppa paura per uscire dal suo letto, scegliendo di accoccolarsi vicino ai suoi amici nella gabbia. Evidentemente non aveva mai vissuto molto prima e il mondo intorno a lei le sembrava soffocante e spaventoso. Presto si è trasferita in una meravigliosa famiglia di accoglienza, dove ha trascorso gli ultimi mesi ad ambientarsi e ad abituarsi alla vita in casa. Primrose è un cane molto speciale che avrà bisogno di una casa altrettanto speciale. Quando è arrivata in famiglia di accoglienza, era terribilmente terrorizzata dalle persone. Per diverse settimane si nascondeva sott'una credenza mettendo la testa sul petto per evitare di guardare la persona che si prendeva cura di lei. Anche se è ancora molto timorosa nei confronti degli umani, è migliorata molto da allora. Non interagisce con le persone o con altri cani, ma trova un enorme conforto nei piccoli cani calmi e affettuosi che scelgono di accoccolarsi a lei. In famiglia di accoglienza, Primrose ha iniziato lentamente a sbocciare nel suo modo silenzioso. Ora sceglie di sedersi in uno dei suoi tre "posti sicuri", trovando conforto nel avere spazi che si sentono sicuri e prevedibili. Ha iniziato a fidarsi della sua famiglia di accoglienza e guarda alla sua assistente per ottenere cibo e ora è anche felice di essere seduta accanto a lei sul divano e a volte ha persino appoggiato la testa sulle sue gambe, un grande passo per Primrose. Quando viene messa lì, si rannicchia solitamente in un angolo del giardino. Recentemente, se portata in giro per il giardino, ha iniziato a mostrare interesse per l'ambiente circostante. È ora felice di indossare una cingia, anche se non è ancora pronta per le passeggiate. Sta attualmente usando i pannolini per andare in bagno. Requisiti per l'adozione: Primrose cercherà una casa tranquilla e silenziosa, riservata agli adulti, con adottanti che hanno esperienza con cani esallevatori spaventati e che capiranno che ha bisogno di poter ambientarsi e progredire al proprio ritmo, senza pressioni o aspettative. Avrà bisogno di almeno un altro cane gentile e sicuro che la prenda sotto la sua ala, si accoccoli con lei e le offra la rassicurazione che necessita mentre si ambienta nella sua nuova casa. Sembra preferire i cani più piccoli e i cani della sua taglia e si sente meno a suo agio con i cani più grandi. I suoi adottanti devono essere preparati a dedicare il tempo, la pazienza e la gentilezza necessari per aiutarla a costruire ulteriore fiducia. Un ambiente tranquillo senza bambini in visita è essenziale. La sua assistente supporterà l'adottante durante questo processo. Primrose is a very scared little girl who has come to us from a breeder to start her new life. When she first arrived, she was completely shut down and was too fearful to even leave her bed, choosing to cuddle close to her kennel friends. She had clearly never experienced much in life before and the world around her felt overwhelming and frightening. She soon moved to a wonderful foster home, where she has spent the last several months settling in and adjusting to home life. Primrose is a very special little dog who will need an equally special home. When she first arrived in foster, she was utterly petrified of people. For several weeks she would bury her head into her chest and hide under a cupboard just to avoid looking at her foster carer. Although she is still very fearful of humans, she has come a long way since then. She doesn’t interact with people or other dogs, but she does find enormous comfort in calm, affectionate little dogs who choose to cuddle into her. In foster, Primrose has slowly begun to blossom in her own quiet way. She now chooses to sit in one of her three “safe places,” finding comfort in having spaces that feel secure and predictable. She has started to trust her foster family and looks to her fosterer for treats and is now even happy to be placed on the sofa next to her and on occasion has even rested her head on her lap, which is a huge step for Primrose. At night, when the home is quiet and everyone is in bed, Primrose starts to come out of her shell and has even been seen on camera emptying the toy box and playing by herself, which is a lovely glimpse of the happy dog she may become once she feels truly safe. Primrose is still incredibly frightened of anything beyond her safe spaces, but is now venturing outdoors into the garden. Her foster mum does have to put her outside, but when she does she is happy to explore it and runs around with excitement. She’s even played chase a couple of times with her foster brothers and sisters. Whilst incredibly nervous she is clearly coming out of her shell a little more now, and her foster mum says it’s wonderful to see this most gentle dog, finally learn it’s okay to be happy and have fun. She is now happy to wear a harness, although she is not yet ready for walks. She is currently using puppy pads for her toileting. Adoption Requirements: Primrose will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult-only home with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and who will understand that she needs to be allowed to settle in and progress at her own pace, with no pressure or expectations. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog who will take her under their wing, cuddle up with her and offer her the reassurance she needs as she settles in to her new home. She seems to prefer smaller dogs and dogs around her size and is less comfortable around larger dogs. Her adopters must be prepared to dedicate the time, patience, and kindness needed to help her continue building confidence. A quiet environment with no visiting young children is essential. Her fosterer will support the adopter through this process. With patience, understanding, and love, Primrose has the potential to blossom fully and show the happy, affectionate dog she should have always had the chance to be. She just needs the right family to help her take the next steps. Primrose has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
