Il mio nome è Rafa dal giraffa (ho 4 anni), perché sono l'unico dei 8 fratelli a lunghe gambe. Come potete vedere nella foto, non mi piace particolarmente essere alto. Quelle persone che hanno riso tutta la vita per essere TROPPO alte, o almeno più alte dei loro pari, sanno di cosa parlo. Vorrei essere tondo e facile da mettere nella vostra borsa, come fanno i miei fratelli. Ma i miei cari al rifugio mi dicono che non dovrei aver vergogna o sentirsi insicuri perché non sembro agli altri. Al contrario, mi dicono che sono speciale, che sono carino come un bottone, che ho una strana andatura come un insetto su bastoni, e soprattutto, mi dicono che merito d'essere amato e che devo amarmi per primo. Ma è così difficile per me amarmi, oof... Sarebbe molto, molto più facile per me se avessi una famiglia mia che mi mostrasse ogni giorno come si sente quel sentimento che so solo dare, ma non come darmelo: l'amore. Sarebbe molto più facile se fossi il vostro cucciolo.

My name is Rafa from giraffe (I'm 4 years old), because I'm the only one of 8 long-legged brothers. As you can see in the picture, I don't particularly like being tall. Those people who have been laughed at all their lives for being TOO tall, or at least taller than their peers, know what I'm talking about. I'd like to be dumpy and easy to fit in your purse, like my brothers are. But my loved ones at the shelter tell me I shouldn't be ashamed or insecure because I don't look like the others. On the contrary, they tell me I'm special, that I'm cute as a button, that I have a funny walk like a bug on stilts, and most of all, they tell me I deserve to be loved and that I should love myself first.
