Purtroppo Red è con noi da più di due anni. Red ha alcune paure nel conoscere nuove persone e apprezzia una presentazione lenta per costruire un buon rapporto con lui - ma una volta che si sente a suo agio con te, è pieno di baci e coccole. Questo significa che i potenziali adottatori devono essere pronti a fare molte visite al Santuario per un periodo piuttosto lungo per costruire un rapporto positivo con Red. Red ha anche difficoltà con il traffico e le aree affollate, quindi ha bisogno di un nuovo ambiente attivo in un'area tranquilla. Qui nel nostro Santuario viene esercitato nei nostri recinti chiusi e spesso portato fuori sede in aree più tranquille per passeggiate calme - viaggia molto bene in auto/furgone. Red ha anche mostrato reattività verso altri cani, avrà bisogno di essere l'unico cane in casa. Red sarebbe meglio adatto in una casa senza bambini e avrà bisogno di un padrone esperto in grado di lavorare attraverso questi problemi. Fa anche parte del programma April's Wish - che include sessioni con un comportamentista canino prima e dopo l'adozione per aiutarlo a trasferirsi nel suo nuovo ambiente. Red ha tanto amore da dare, quando si sente sicuro e al sicuro lo riversa su di te, sia che tu lo voglia o meno, speriamo che qualcuno capisca finalmente quello che vediamo in Red.

Sadly, Red has been with us for over two years now. Red has some fears around meeting new people and appreciates a slow introduction to build a good relationship with him – but once he’s comfortable around you he is full of kisses and cuddles. This means that potential adopters would need to be prepared to make lots of visits to the Sanctuary over quite a period of time in order to build up a positive relationship with Red. Red also struggles with traffic and busy areas so he is in need of an active new home in a quiet area. Here at our Sanctuary he is exercised in our enclosed paddocks and is often taken off-site to quieter areas for calm walks – he travels really well in the car/van. Red has also shown reactivity to other dogs, he will need to be the only dog in the home. Red would be best suited in an adult only home and he will need an experienced owner who is capable of working through these issues. He is also a part of our April’s Wish programme – which will include sessions with a dog behaviourist pre- and post-adoption to help him transition into his new home. Red has so much love to give, when he feels safe and secure he piles this onto you, whether you want it or not, we hope someone eventually sees what we do in Red.
